We chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel (Adina Checkpoint Charlie). Based on Trip Advisor reviews we had mixed feelings, but we had a good meal here. Whilst initial service is slow (seems to be the Berlin thing), after this it was swift for Berlin and the Pizza was very good. We stuck with that based on... More

When the wait or showed us our table it took them 15 minutes to bring a menu card. Then about 45 minutes before they took our order. The food came rather quickly though, but when we wanted to pay - it to about 45 minutes before the bill arrived. And we only had to ask for the bill about 3... More

Went to this restaurant because it was up the road from where we were staying - Adina apartments (super by the way) . It was pretty busy outside, quiet inside. We were shown to a table outside and gave our drinks order. Drinks came relatively quickly. We were then asked for our food order!!!!!!! We tried to order quickly but... More

Service was rushed, the food was only warm, and found a long stalk in the pasta and thought it was a tomato vine. Told the waiter who said it was a Rosemary stalk. The wine was overpriced and lacking in taste. BTW this place only takes cash.

Our trip to Berlin had us staying in the Adina Apart Hotel. Following a long wander around many of the sites of the city (20 kilometers to be precise!) we just wanted somewhere close by and having noted that the tables here were busy the previous 2 nights opted for an Italian feed. We were certainly not disappointed...the atmosphere was... More

Looked promising, were very busy but we were told they wanted the table so needed to be quick. Fair enough, we wanted to watch the World Cup on TV too (Germany v Italy...) Food was OK but after all the rush we had to wait 20 minutes for the bill, having asked twice, in the end went up to pay... More

Not in a major tourist location but worth visiting for the quality of its food and wine. We were staying at the Adina Checkpoint Charlie hotel and this restaurant is on the same street. We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and we ate at the Lungomare twice and every other time we walked past, it was very busy... More

This restaurant was great. Food was excellent. Loved the outdoor seating and service was very good too. Be sure to bring cash because they do not take any credit cards.

We looked for a nice Italian restaurant for dinner, and came across Lungomare. Well, the whole self-serving and going around ordering what you like was kind of nice. We got the bruschetta which was very nice, the tomato soup which was dissapointing, and we had a pizza and some veggie pasta, which were quite good. So, all in all, had... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
