Went here a couple of times, with different experiences. I loved the area where you could sit on the ground and have a great experience in this restaurant. When sitting at a regular table with slightly less friendly staff, this is a downer on the experience. The food however is good, allthough a meat-plate could contain a bit more meat... More

I went to Baraka to eat dinner while walking through Kreuzberg. First thing that caught my attention was the interesting design of the walls in the location, they look la cave walls. After seeing the menu, i realised that the menu was quite diverse, having Moroccan, And Egyptian cuisine beside the classic Turkish kebabs and meals. I chose a Moroccan... More

This place is never empty, the food is always fresh. They have a nice plate for multiple persons wirh all their specialities, and a great tea with rose water.

I always find a reason and an excuse to come back here; there are just so many reasons for it. I never had something that i didn't like, it's easy to find free tables, there are good vegetarian options, you can come with large groups (but also with just a friend). Only downside is, you can't order alcohol, but also... More

We went there with friends. The location is intresting and really cosy. The waiter was really nice. I had Baraka plate which was more then enough for one person...you could even share it with someone. As a drink I had Ayran and it was so tasty. Its a yoghurt drink mixed with water salt and a bit of dried mint...just... More

I don't know why people talk badly about this place. It's so cheap. So tasty and fresh and the staff is extremely friendly. You can sit down and be served a meal and tea for less than 5 euros. And the food is very authentic and made with love.

Quite good Moroccan food, though the couscous was rather dry - so if you do go, try the rice instead. The veal tajine is quite nice, with figs and apricots. The place is quite big and divided into different parts - but the best section is where you sit on cushions on the floor. Service was good, and it really... More

I always order the same dish: a combination of typical tapas and it is amazing. Everything tastes absolutely gorgeous and I strongly recommend it for dinner. The restaurant does not serve any alcohol, but it does not change my desire to repeat it over and over. It is a gem in Berlin!

This is my first time trying Arab cuisine. I find this place has delicious food, good service, good ambience and excellent price. What more do you ask for?

It is a good place where to have a taste of mid-Eastern kitchen, as you may occasionally also find there traditional Eastern folks favouring the place. I take this as a warranty of good traditional and original food. It announces itself as halal, which means to follow Muslin food rules. And surely it implies no alcoholic drinks of any sort... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
