The small interior of “Sigiriya” was sparsely but nicely decorated and together with the candles at the tables this provided a pleasant atmosphere. The menu was comprehensive and focused, of course, on the cuisines of Sri Lanka and Southern India. Most dishes differed markedly from those offered at many Indian restaurants in this borough and appeared to be creative to... More

We had a very tasty meal here with reasonably priced drinks and great service! Lovely décor and feel to the restaurant and the staff were friendly and chatty.

We were in the restaurant in February 2016 and it was such an opportunity for us to taste the real Sri Lankan food in Germany. We were tired and hungry, we went looking for this place and it wasn't disappointing at all. Staff was super friendly and food reminded us home. I would recommend anyone who wants to taste Sri... This restaurant had the perfect atmosphere: Sinhala music, Sigiriya frescoes, comfortable seating, and the lady who served us even said a couple of things in Sinhala. The food was very authentic, and some of the best south Sri Lankan food I've tasted in Europe. It definitely had the most variety I've seen so far in Europe, given that it's not... More

Great location - the restaurant is a bit small, but offers great food for not too high a price. Dishes can be prepared as spicy as you like - and hot means really hot. Highly recommended.

One of the many nice restaurants in Friedrichshain, this restaurant offers delicious, authentic Sri Lankan food. I was happy with just about everything - the food, the service etc. except for one thing: I found a hair in my meal! I wasn't overly concerned so didn't say anything at the time but it should not have been there...

Great food and atmosphere. Very friendly and fast service. Only problem is we ran out of food and had to order more because it was so good.

We expected another more or less Indian restaurant but then were surprised at the additional choices in Sigiriya and loved the taste of our food. We had some kind of dough that tasted like noodles - very good. If there is not outdoor seating, tables are limited and quite cramped. We´ve been here on Halloween. All kids that came in... More

I went there with a friend and we took two vegetarian dishes. I took some SriLanka speciality, but when I got it the taste was not noticeable. Could be that I was expecting some really tasty indian food, but I was really disappointed from a 11€ dish. Was so tasteless that I was just forcing myself to finish it. My... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
