Came he by accident. Restaurant is said to be the meeting place of Communists in the 1980s. Not a nice and welcoming interior but - whomever visited China - it looks like a Chinese restaurant. Had a Peking duck for 1. More than enough. Taste was very good. Staff is friendly.

Came here by accident, the place was just on my way, when I have been walking with my wife. After we have landed here I read a reviews and was a bit scary. But now it's clear that place is good. Food is tasty, prices affordable, tea was good. Choice of food is rich enough. OK place, I recommend it.

During the IFA Berlin event, during a city scout, i decided to eat here as i saw the resto from the 200 busline passing in front. Several pictures and a story about Barbara, streisand i presume convinced me to get on the terras outside and order. I ordered a simple baked noudels with duck. The taste was ok dough kinda... More

We stopped here for dinner and ordered: steamed dumplings, lamb stew and crispy deep fried duck. The lamb and duck were marked as "recommended dish" in the menu but were quite disappointing. Both of them were too salty that when we had one spoon of meat, we needed 4 spoons of rice to balance the taste. The duck was also... More

I haven't written reviews for quite a while. I really want to share this wonderful experience with all friends coming from China. The taste is so good and in genuine Chinese way of cooking. I will recommend friends to cure their homesick of Chinese food. The price is reasonable and even cheaper than Shanghai. I will come again tomorrow.

We have traveled all over the world. We have had Peking Duck in numerous places and, because Berlin is a major city, we thought we could get good, authentic Peking Duck here. I guess we should have surmised, when we saw that the restaurant was across from Mall of Berlin, that it would be a tourist trap. However, my husband... More

The restaurant wasn't too busy the night we dined there. Service was friendly and timely. We weren't overly hungry so chose the Steamed Dumplings, which were very good and a spicy chicken dish, which also came with a large bowl of steamed rice. Good wine selection, nice to see a Shandy on the menu which suited me as I'm not... More

Decided on dinner here for our first evening in Berlin and we were staying at a nearby apartment. First it is in a nice location and its exterior and interior decor presents well. We wanted yo see the menu first and response from staff was a bit brusque. We ended up staying and then realised to order the house speciality... More

Hi Moonrock1962, when you order a Peking Duck you always get a whole bird :) If someone ever served you half a bird it maybe wasn't a real Peking Duck ... Thank you very much for taking the time to write your recommendation. Best Mengling Tang General Manager More

Avoid it completely, tasteless meals, high prices and the worst service ever. This "restaurant" was my worst experience in Berlin!

This restaurant is fine, situated on the site of Hitler's offices and very close to the U-bahn (Underground). The staff were attentive and there is an English menu. I ate with my wife and if we wanted duck, it was a whole one (we could not order 1/2 a duck which is what I wanted). This made the meal expensive... More

Hey Martin L, Thank you very much for your kind recommendation. There is a lot of dishes to choose from the next time ;-) Chinese people normally go out with 8 to 12 people. So a whole Peking Duck is only one dish out of ten. Feel free to invite your friends and have a nice evening at a great... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
