Awesome crispy pork knuckle with very nice beer to wash it down with. Much needed after a cold day out touring the city

The food here was really good and hearty on a cold winters day, the staff were very friendly and explained the menu and beers which are all brewed on the spot! I went for the roast pork and dumplings, very nice, would have liked a little more sauce but did not spoil the meal! Close to Alexanderplatz

We visited Brauhaus Mitte on our first evening in Berlin as we were staying nearby and wanted to sample some authentic German food. We then returned on our last night as we hadn't found anywhere else with such good food and beer! Over both our visits we had between us the crispy pork knuckle, Berlin style meatballs and roast pork.... More

This place is based around it's own micro brewery which brews six craft beers. They all taste completely different but are all delicious in their own right. There are other beers and a full bar on offer and you can also get a meal here. This is a large, airy bar/restaurant which can get busy at the weekend.

Went here as a good beer haus. However the beer is ok but the food is very disappointing and is served only warm. The staff are not very friendly and as such it does not have any atmosphere.

I would say we were a little disappointed because the food was nothing out of the ordinary, the waiters were not very quick to serve us and the prices are quite high for the services they offer. However, it is a place to have a quick German meal and craft beer.

Service was beyond awful my son ordered a still water which was warm when I asked for a cold one the extremely rude waiter told me they didn't have cold ones I could add ice. When I said I didn't want ice and could I send it back he at first said no as the top was off it! He... More

Exactly what we expected in way of food from a German restaurant - meat and potatoes/sauerkraut. The beer was above most of the other places we went to around Berlin. Good craft brews with some personality.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
