Visited on a Saturday night for drinks, but were told by locals it was a bit of a tourist trap with big prices. We didn't care. The beer was great so we went back for more - and food. My roasted knuckle of pork with sauerkraut and fried potatoes (fried in bacon) was unreal. My girlfriend's Beef goulash with dumplings... More

Went for a meal here the last night we were in Berlin. Very large beerhouse. We were directed upstairs when we arrived. Good service, but there was a bit of a wait for the food as they were busy. My Schnitzel was slightly tough and could have been warmer, but overall this was a nice place to visit.

I eat here every time I'm in Berlin. I went yesterday and the food an beer are just so good. Portions are generous and staff professional and polite. I've never found it busy but I'm only ever there for lunch.

We were only allowed to sit in the bar for 45 minutes and have a beer as there were lots of bookings due in. The beer was nice but its a petty it was rushed.

Visited Brauhaus Mitte on the third night of our Berlin trip. We thought this place was below par on the food and drink we've already had in other establishments on previous nights. The atmosphere just wasn't there, The service wasn't great, it was like our waitress just didn't want be there. And when the food came out it was just... More

My friend and I just had to try the knuckles, and they did not disappoint. Tasty and plenty of food. Beer was nice, but not completely my favourite. The negative thing was that we got the starter 5 second after the main course. However, I do not mind recommending the Brauhaus.

The food here was really good and hearty on a cold winters day, the staff were very friendly and explained the menu and beers which are all brewed on the spot! I went for the roast pork and dumplings, very nice, would have liked a little more sauce but did not spoil the meal! Close to Alexanderplatz

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
