Had a very tasty meal here, beautiful sashimi starter, very fresh. Followed up by a good steak, the sides sounded better than they actually were. A very cool comfortable environment. I didn't stay late so the atmosphere wasn't amazing at the time but could see how it could turn into a buzzing place.

The new years eve party at Spindler & Klatt was a good choice. The service was good and fast, even throughout busy periods of the night. The prices for the drinks were very reasonable. A point of improvement would have been to arrange a better area for the fireworks since they were not very easy to see from the winter... More

Limited menu with starter platters and 5-6 barbecue options as mains including Halloumi cheese, salmon and tuna as well as a variety of tasty side dishes like sweet potato fries, wasabi mash and asparagus. As dessert there was also an option as dessert platter with 3 small tasters per person. Food came fast and was really tasty, the meat and... More

I visited this place 8 years ago, where the food was ok and the club great. I've been back every 2. year and the place is still very nice. The food has developed alot and is really great, the club is ok but not great. Overall the place is trendy, good decorations and lounge-like with cool music. In the summer... More

Situated right by the river this outdoor terrasse restaurant and cocktail lounge is as close as one gets to an exceptional high note experience. Te fiid is superb and the waiters so very professional and service minded and one can clear fell they are very passionate with what they do. The chef seems to be of the same caliber -... More

Thanks for ruining what was supposed to be a special evening. The most lousy service i ever experienced, the first local shoarma bar does a better job. Incompetent management, the place is worse than anything you might imagine. Only one solution: replace management and staff and start all over - the location deserves it.

We took a group of our employees visiting the city to dinner. I had my reserves as the kind of a dark and empty port street used as the access to the restaurant was empty and dark with the river at the end and a dark warehouse on the side. Some of the girls arriving later were afraid and almost... More

The location is REALLY amazing, as is The Interior and setting. We Got seated outside as wished for, so beautyfull , for A warm Day. For a start Only few guest, but that soon changed. The Waiter started ignoring us totally, attending others. We had to pour our Wine ourself, he even seemed annoyed when we tried to get in... More

Great ambience, great drinks, the food was pretty good too. We came to relax after a long day of walking and spent several hours chatting, eating, drinking. Worth walking by the East Side gallery before you plop down for a relaxing evening here. Very good service too!

Description
A restaurant of two worlds, Spindler&Klatt is a relaxed riverside restaurant by day, with cocktails and smooth, soothing music in the background, and a vibrant hub for house, trance and techno DJs to get the people dancing throughout the night. One of Berlin's trendiest rendezvous, this is a popular place for people to taste fantastic fusion cuisine, flavoured with Asian and European influences. Dining here is truly a comfort, as you can enjoy your meal and drinks lying on futons as well as sitting at tables. In the summer, the 650 m² terrace offers direct access to the River Spree and the interior and exterior merge into one through the open roller shutters. Spindler&Klatt is also an incredibly versatile venue for all kinds of events. Its rich decor and innovative food will certainly leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
