My wife and I ate at this restaurant in October and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was proper German cuisine and the beers and wine were all good too. Not expensive at all and we left nicely full up. This place is perfect if your wondering the streets of Mitte looking for some lunch.

We ate the Flammenkuchen (I think that's how it's written), the dish is a sort of pizza and was delicious. We also had the game sausages with potato salad. Very good food and excellent value. We shared our table with 4 other people we didn't know and that was interesting.

I love this place! This is a favorite restaurant of mine when visiting friends and relatives want a taste of German food, but I don't want to take them somewhere touristy. It's great traditional southern german food with the decor is very eclectic Berlin style and makes it always a favorite for me to bring visitors. The perfect combination between... More

Good food, good beer, nice atmosphere and not very expensive. I had only 6 meals in Berlin and I'm happy I went there for once

I met someone from my hostel that took me to Schwarzwaldstuben because I didn't have a lot of Euros on me (needed to go to the bank) and he wanted to eat there a second time! We both ordered the crispy potato squares, not sure what it really was, but it was fabulous and good portions! It was one my... More

We had very nice meal, but good impression was ruined by arrogant waitress who unpleasantly refused to take a small change while we were looking for additional tip.

We chose this place because in the past it's been very good. We had friends visiting, one is French and the other is a chef.....these people know their food! The issue was that we all ordered schnitzel with asparagus and hollandaise sauce, a seasonal speciality. It arrived looking decidedly dull, a plate lacking in any colour....boiled potatoes, white asparagus and... More

We went there today and had the cheese breakfast and scrambled egg with bacon. Both were really good and it was nice to sit outside. Service was pretty good too.

It was delicious. Ordered pork with sauerkrut and two Augustiner helles. The place is quiet and has a nice romantic ambience. I'll return for sure.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
