a restaurant in excellent location. a friend of ours recommended the place for "the best schnitzel in Berlin". We order the schnitzel. We were very disappointed. The meat was completely tasteless, and its quality was way below average. Small salad was decent.

Apart from the strange sense of humour of the staff (no smartphones while eating!), this is a really cosy place to be. The food is fresh and the portions are way too big! This is the place to be if you're really hungry! Oh and the Austrian draught beer is way better than the German of Budweiser!

This place doesn't have the most modern comforts. In fact, you could describe the interior as Spartan. Still, this place has the biggest and best schnitzel in Berlin. Service not always the most friendly (but that's normal in Berlin - they think it's charm), but the food is great. Try the "Steirische Tasche" a schnitzel pocket filled with bacon and... More

... but about Quality! Yes, the schnitzels are huge, but in my opinion that's not enough, to be honest the food was ok but nothing special unfortunately. The schnitzel is truly enormous and the side-dish is quite small so you end up eating way too much meat. Furthermore, many people order the schnitzel and can't manage to eat it up... More

We ate here on a recommendation but left disappointed. Most reviews seem to concentrate on the schnitzel, gigantic or otherwise, but there should be more to it than that. The 'Bratkartoffeln', a German staple, turned out to be thinly-sliced potato which had been deep-fried. That's not how they're done. They should be gently fried in a pan in butterschmalz which... We dine at Louis on New Year's Eve and our expectations - the restaurant had been recommended by a friend- were highly met! The restaurant in itself is very simple- it reminds of a mountain chalet- but both the service and the food were amazing! We had one veil schnitzel which was huge and tasty; a very tender and spicy... More

A German friend took us here; we'd been told about the gargantun size of the schnitzel, and everything we'd heard was true and then some. I had the 'kleine' schnitzel; it could comfortably sustain 3 people. Or, in my case - one Berlin Marathon runner! "Doggie bags" of foil-wrap for those unable to finish seemed to be the norm. I... They say that it's the largest in Berlin.. I'd say it's the largest I've seen anywhere! I've a good healthy appetite, but i was unable to finish more than a third. Luckily, and surprisingly, they allowed a 'doggie bag', which I gratefully took, and which provided me two more meals. The picture above is accurate! An additional benefit is that... More

Staying in Neukolln

Neighborhood Profile
No Berlin neighborhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as "Little Istanbul." Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
