Lunch was part of our walking tour of this quintessentially charming town. Potato soup, bratwurst and sauerkraut and apple strudel-all delicious! Everything fresh and service was warm and welcoming in a captivating atmosphere.

Our tour group stopped here for lunch-potato soup, brats, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and apple strudel with wine, beer, or other beverage options. Very friendly staff, good food, great atmosphere. Glad Viking picked Glocke to feed us!

We stopped specifically at the Cafe Glocke because of TA mentioning the 5-wines for one fee tasting. We had ten, five whites and five reds (all from their vineyards in the region) and added to the wines the camembert baked with cranberries. We had a lovely break on a very rainy afternoon. But, it would have tasted great no matter... More

Enjoyed the potato soup and sausage platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, followed by apple strudel with warm vanilla sauce. Fresh, local and authentic.

Really good comfort food in generous portions at cheap prices. My wife raved about the venison for days. A couple of nights earlier we ate a very good meal at an upscale restaurant in France for 6 times the cost of our meal at Glocke but the meal was not 6 times better than the food at Glocke. Different types... More

We found this restaurant when we wanted wurst and a sit-down area. The restaurant was lovely and the waiter very helpful. We ordered the wurst boiled in onions and vinegar, and the wurst fried with sauerkraut and potatoes. Both were good and filling for lunch.

The food was okay and the atmosphere is better than a regular hotel. The evening when we went there was quite busy, and you can see the staff was working hard to get everything done.

Rothenburg has so many cafes and restaurants in its small area. Our guide took us for a group meal to Glocke. It is located on the south end of town before the Plonlein/Sieners Tower. We started with a delicious Franconian potato soup, milder in taste than a thick cream of potato soup. This was followed by home made bratwurst with... More

Excellent German food, all homemade. Fabulous apple strudel. If you like game, they have that in season also. Full of local people enjoying the food, which is a good sign!

Would likely return. Soups were nice. Both ordered fish for a change, and were satisfied with the cook and flavors. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, which was not too formal, but had a touch of class.
