Go here. Order whatever suites your fancy off the menu. You will be happy you did. Let's just say Germany isn't "known" for it's cuisine. Yes, they do pork, sausage, etc. But can you REALLY eat that every day. No thank you. This restaurant however is a hidden treasure. Everything on the menu is so incredibly good. It's a great... Really, there are two reasons why this lunch failed to reach the standard. As well as being rated (and priced) with two stars, there was no choice in the menu. In other words the restaurant had decided what we should eat. Now, when this is the case, a "wow" factor is called for, and it simply wasn't there: Slivers of... More

Well, of course it was not very cheap to at mr köthes restaurant, but it is - in my opinion - worth every cent. Fantastic quality, composition, texture and taste of every single ingredient, served in a very welcoming yet professional manner by the service crew. Especially the lamb showed what one can do when he knows what he does.... More

Loved the discreet setting, superbly professional and friendly waiter; and certainly the food. The menu, which looks like a shopping list for the greengrocer, is in fact a combination of cleverly worked ingredients. The cucumber dish was so special that we asked for the recipe. However I don't think I have the time to dry it for 14 hours at... More

A very interesting experience. The restaurant feels like you are almost dining in a large house with friends. The menu is very much down to the chef and so are the wines but that adds to the experience. We really enjoyed the variety and the flavours of both but it is very expensive; even for a 2*. But excellent never... More

Reservation: Smooth and fast online and was double checked/confirmed some days in advance Staff: Friendly, relaxed and professional staff, not too much over the top as you would expect it in some other places like this Menu und drinks: It was absolutely amazing, the best lunch we have ever had; especially the vegetarian dishes where surprisingly interesting and in general... Managed to get a same-day reservation for my colleagues- a group of 10 in all- and we were in for a treat! We enjoyed amazing food with top-notch service-- a prix fix, multi-hour dining experience. The numerous courses were each "tiny plates" composed of wondrous tastes-- each a newfound delight to the palate and senses. If you're a foodie, appreciate... More

We celebrated my daughter's birthday with the set seven course meal, each course with a wine pairing. Each course was absolutely delicious, each wine was perfect. Service was discreet and efficient. The meal was expensive but well worth it. The two Michelin stars are well deserved.

So far we have done a bit over 20 Michelin-starred restaurant and Essigbraetlein was the best of them all! it is small, just a few tables, very intimate atmosphere. Book well in advance, perfect for a romantic dinner, we were there for Valentine's Day. The sommelier did the best wine pairing with the menu degustation. Each dish surprised us in... More

Simply wonderful, each and every bite. The place is cozy, maybe 12 tables and ringing doorbell to get in has a nice touch. If I were to change one thing I'd order a nice Burgandy to compliment since the pairings are primarily regional whites. The entire experience was perfect, I do not understand what would incent someone to write a... More
