We booked this for an ideal place to sample some local cusine. We were a little late for our reservation but they were very helpful. We had various dishes, bratwurst, sauerkraut, horseradish and pork steaks. Washed down with a local pilsner. I personally thought it...was excellent value. With the current situation we felt very Covid safe. Nothing was too much for the staff. They were shocked when I left a 20 euro tip. Well deserved.More

Traditional, local restaurant which focuses on their core speciality: Nuremberg sausages. They are nice. Side dishes are good too, service is quick and efficient. Delicious beer and charming old interior. Suggest you book a table as this place is very popular amongst the tourists.

We had bratwursts with 2 pieces of pork loins together with homemade herb butter and creamy horseradish as a side dish. We have also had nuremberg sausage with potato salad. We also had sauerkraut. Bratwursts were really good. Pork loins were moderate. All side dishes...were very good.More

It is a really small and cozy restaurant however the way we were served was terrible. We choosed to try 3 different side dishes instead of main meal and they were really rude and unpleasant. In the end we payed 30 euros and the food...was not so tasty. Definitely the money that we payed was not worth it. I really don't recommend this restaurant.More

This place is a classic Nurembuerg sausage house - in fact the menu offerings are nearly identical some of the others in town. However, one of the big draws is how historic of a building it is (it also didn't hurt also that it was...across the street from our hotel). The menu is really simple: sausages, sides, and beer - the only real choice is how much of each of them. We made a reservation and sat upstairs, but service was frequent.More

This place is a little out of the way, but definitely worth the visit. I was interested to see other people complain about the size of the bratwurst when that is the size for this region. Also you are visiting Germany so shouldn't complain when...they don't speak English. The staff were very helpful and friendly and appreciate an attempt to speak German. We had a plate of assorted bratwurst and pork with potato salad, it was all quite tasty. Beer tops it all off quite nicely!More

Average dinner with unfriendly staff. They didn’t understand me speaking English to them and did not make any effort to help. We booked a table and were seated with more people even though the place was half empty. Quite disappointing

Located near Holiday Inn Nuremberg, the restaurant is clean and deco is just simple Bavarian style. I had “two grilled” from the menu which contains two slices of pork lion and 6 sausage and sauerkraut as side dish. It was the sauerkraut was the best...I ever tired. Sausages and pork lion was delicious and the food was served in a heart shape dish. We totally enjoyed our food there. We would recommend to our friends and family.More

Went there for an early dinner during the Christmas market and we were able to walk in without a reservation. Don’t think you can do that after 6 pm. The restaurant is very quaint, but not that big. The food was delicious, especially the crispy,...brown sausages! The sauerkraut was the BEST I’ve ever had, quite flavorful and not really tart, and the cream horseradish was zippy to say the least. I wasn’t overwhelmed with the potato salad, although my husband liked it, served cold with nothing in it but potatoes and some kind of sauce (not mayo and not what we call German potato salad in the US with bacon and a tart dressing). The server wasn’t the friendliest, but she was very busy. If you go there to try the little sausages, you won’t be disappointed!More

We went for dinner after a long day out. A friend had done some research and was drawn by the history. I wasn’t sure what to expect, although I knew that the bratwurst in town were small after having a bratwurst sandwich at the ChristKindlesMarkt...earlier in the evening. The food at Zum Gulden Stern was excellent. The potato salad is a little bland for my taste, but the bratwurst and fasskraut more than make up for that. The beer was excellent, as well. We were a little put off by the waitress at first, but she warmed up to us. Think of it like Dick’s Last Resort in the U.S., where indifferent service is part of the atmosphere. Get past that, and I think you’ll enjoy it.More
