I go to Munich almost every year - and this is my number 1 go-to restaurant in Munich. It is traditional style Bavarian food at it's best. Additionally, the ambiance is both traditional as well as comfortable. I reviewed the restaurant in 2010 and it remains at the same wonderful quality.

We ordered a Caesar salad and a boiled beef meal with horseradish sauce and creamy spinach. I would say out of all my trips to Germany that this is by far my favorite restaurant meal I've had. It's in the middle ground for price the beef was 22,70 Euro and the Caesar was 15,30 euro (it had chicken) we had... More

The first room looks to my taste somewhat ordinary and plain but as you move further back into the building other rooms emerge and they have Bavarian atmosphere with lots of wood paneling and detailing. The place was recommended by my hotel and I was delighted The food was excellent if you like Bavarian cuisine and I was well pleased... More

So we went here for a large work get together and food was good, atmosphere was fun for a larger restaurant. They had allot of seafood and traditional German food. I went with a steak and it was real good.

If you're ready to enjoy the best Weisswurst (White Sausage) or Leberkaese (Liver meatloaf) with fresh bezels in town, this is the place to go. Needless to say that they serve original beer from Franziskaner Brewery in Munich. Cross out from your trip itinerary the standard beer halls and places recommended by numerous travel guides, and visit this place. Though,... More

I don't eat meat, but hear the weiner schnitzel is very good compared to many other places. There is a good selection of beer and decent selection of wine. The service was pretty good, but they could work on that. I preferred the ambiance to the food. Desserts were very good, but a bit overpriced. There is a cute courtyard... More

Great Bavarian food in a quieter atmosphere than similar places. I had the roast duck and it was absolutely excellent. Service was not the best, but there was no wait for a table and the food and atmosphere had me sold. I would definitely recommend this place for a taste of Bavarian food at a reasonable price.

Very traditional place in the city center. My first choice to enjoy heavy Bavarian traditional meals such as "Schweinshaxe" or "Leberkäs" The service matches the style of the meal and don't forget drinking at least a few Franziskaner beers
