Centrally located restaurant with a wonderful small inner courtyard. Really nice and friendly staff, very tasty and deliciuos food (try the Wiener Schnitzel) as well as a really cozy atmoshphere. Absolutely recommandable.

A person I met by chance in the hotel suggested this place . He said is is one of the oldest places in the city. I went for the history but I would go back for the food. I was alone and they had several little corners where I could go and see but not be seen. I see some... More

Very comfortable place. For lunch they offered Rindergulasch with semmelknodel (Bread dumplings ). My wife had a garden salad. Both dishes very nice. Service needs to be improved. This was a quick and reasonably priced lunch.

We looked for lunch around Marienplace for a while before we found this one. It was exactly what we were looking for: traditional fare in a quiet, unrushed atmosphere. It was like an Oasis. We had stuffed cabbage and assorted sausage with sauerkraut and they were both excellent. Highly recommend. Good value.

The plates were a bit expensive and The waiter who was serving us was really unpolite. We asked to pay at the casher and he replied in an uneducated way. In the receipt he charged 4,20 euro as tip but we did not allow him to charge.

All the evening the waitress was really rude and the service poor. In the end we were wondering why the bill was much higher then expected. The waitress pretended that he can only tell us the total amount but cannot find the single items in the system. After we asked a few times more and getting rude answers he suddenly... More

This building wasn't bombed in WW2 and is fascinating. It has had quite a history since 1551. I had a delicous fish soup as well as a starter and a great beer. The staff was great. I would definitely go here again because of the atmosphere.

This was my first time to visit this wonderful place. It is very conveniently located to the Marienplatz and the historic center of Munich. From the moment we first arrived, we felt welcomed. The staff were very attentive, the atmosphere very charming, and the food very good.

We were lucky to get to Hofer quite by chance and then to learn from the friendliest ever waiter that it was one of the oldest restaurants in Munich. The atmosphere was superb and the service was incredibly good. Unfortunately, I forgot the names of the Bavarian dishes that our waiter recommended but remember that they were delicious and the...
