Great atmosphere and the beer and food were good but it was spoilt because we were over charged by €5. I paid by card and was asked if I wanted to add a tip at the till but I prefer to do that by cash...so said I’d leave it on the table. I went back to the table and thought it was more than it should have been so I began checking the menu. The server came over and I queried it. He agreed I was overcharged and tried to say he’d charged for large beers not small which didn’t add up as this would have been more than €5 difference. Anyway he asked to take his tip out of the difference. I said no I’d prefer to sort it out first so he initially gave me back €4. I guess he hoped I wouldn’t noticeMore

If you’re unable to visit Germany during the back end of September / first half of October to enjoy Oktoberfest then have no fear because this place will give you the experience of being there during the off-season. No reservations required, just pull up, pop...a squat at any table that has seating. You’ll end up sitting with strangers which is apart of the experience. If you’re not social this will certainly take you out of your comfort zone. Learn to get off of your phone and speak to those around you. I absolutely enjoyed meeting strangers from all over the globe. The beers are hefty and plenty. The food is hot and pretty darn good, and you won’t spend as much here as you may think. The prices are extremely affordable. A must visit when in Munich.More

We went for dinner, 02 adults and 02 teens, expent $180,00, and left hungry and disappinted. The band wasn't good, the service is Just ok, and the food doesn't worth. Maybe if the menu has photos The experience could be a little better. The menu...is confusing for tourists, and the waiters are not patient to explain enough. Think about, and check The menu before you go.More

I'm not even a beer drinker but this is an experience not to be missed. From big communal tables, you can take in the entire beer hall magic. From big glass steins of beer to oompa bands and people selling pretzels table side, this is...a noisy, fun experience. The food wasn't that bad either and it's good value. Warning, the gift shop closes right on time if not a bit early.More

This is the second time I visited this venue and no issues with food and treatment during my first visit, that's perfect. This review is related to my second visit on 30th December 2022 3:30 pm. There was a waiter, whom I had been treated from him badly by with...his name or nickname called "islam", as I understood from another waiter that eventually served me. Being ignored a couple of times, I politely said 'excuse me' to get attention and what he did was simply came to my face and yell at me very loudly saying if you are not happy just go to another table. The problem here is not how busy the premise or stressfulness it is, guess what? there are many other busy premises elsewhere considering the customers-to-waiters ratio. It's all about the emotional quotient (which is none for him) that the waiter should carry when in the end they do expect tips.  This kind of hostile treatment from him is totally unacceptable in any part of the world and could be deemed as a public verbal assault to a certain degree when one take it seriously. As a waiter, who he think he is to have the entitled right to yell at customer rudely - he should feel ashamed himself; my advice: don't come to work if he can't serve well as he is just ruining other waiters' hard work who can serve well and keep the premise joyful. The core idea is simply: a waiter is an agent that represents the host to serve the guest. This incident SHOULD NOT be happening. I was then served by another waiter who then took charge, ordered and had my meal, tipped for his service, and the rest was pretty fine. I don't anticipate any courteous response from the management - as long as you see this message, take your honour and pride, and please act on this according to your house rule. The customer would appreciate a proper action than any diplomatic reply online. A second chance does not come for free.More

We made a reservation for lunch for 7 people on the 02/01 in Munich. The bad surprise that we got is that all the reservations (at least what the waiter told us) are for tables located on the uper floor. It is a place without...live music, almost empty and with nothing that makes the experience in this restaurant so enjoyable. I wouldn’t mind if I was told that prior to our reservation and had the choice to accept or not. This must be told and informed on the website. Anyway, we got lucky and managed to take a table downstairs.More

Visited Munich over the first weekend in December, found the Bavarians to be the most standoffish people I have ever met. Germany had a few days previously been knocked out of the World Cup (big deal it happens!) but as far has the Germans were...concerned the World Cup was over, spent time in an Irish Sports Bar just before USA was due to play Holland, bar staff were turning away American Tourists as the Bar was refusing to play the game, using the excuse that they didn't have the Channel. Every bar was either reservation only or hosting a Private Party, the Bavarians made you feel about as wecome as a fart in a space suit, one of the worst weekends of my life, I and my party have no intention of returning to Munich, so they can use their excuses for being inhospitable for somebody else, If travelling to Germany I would advise looking at visiting Berlin first.More

Excellent beer house-very colorful, always a lot of locals and tourists. It is difficult to sit down, but if there is time, it is a great place to immerse yourself in the traditional beer culture. Great beer and sausages.

DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTURANT, unless you are looking for just outright rude, insulting, and racist treatment by the staff. We have eaten all over the world, from high end resturants to street food vendors and have never been treated so poorly for no apparent reason...other than a server who did not like the color of our skin and our background of origin. If you are a tourist looking for an authentic German dining experience, there are plenty of other great restaurants nearby that have welcoming staff and amazing food. Do not waste your time and money here.More

We visited Hofbrauhaus a couple of times during our short visit and loved every minute. The setting and atmosphere are quite something, and the busy staff somehow manage to serve you at a good pace despite how crowded it can get. The beer, naturally, is...great. The food is just ok. It’s not particularly pricey so it’s never a rip off, and the food is not bad, but it’s a place you go for the beer and atmosphere. So it loses a star from me purely on the basis of the food. Saying that, we did have an Apfelstrudel that was certainly above average. If we go back to Munich, we‘d probably visit every day.More

The Hofbrauhaus, the most famous beer hall in the world and a must visit when in Munich. This could so easily be a tourist honeytrap , but relax , it’s definitely not. A historically important building with a rich history, definitely. Great atmosphere, beer and...food , yes. Really reasonable prices , yes. And live music to boot. We spent a most agreeable afternoon drinking , eating and singing with a mix group of strangers sat at our shared table from Australia, Italy and yes we even had six young German lads with us . By the end of the afternoon we definitely were no longer strangers. Yes it can be busy sometimes but stay strong and find a seat , relax and enjoy this gem of a beer hall. We can’t wait to return …..More

Restaurant was crowded and noisy (some like it, some don't). Personally, I don't mind the noise. Wish the band would play a bit longer, they ended shortly when I arrived for dinner. Food was good and I regretted buying the smaller beer. Should have gone...for the 1 litre because the beer was good on its own and even better with food. I think there was a beer garden at the back of the restaurant but I didn't go to beer garden because it was Winter when I visited and it was really cold.More
