I'm not familiar with Bavarian traditions, but I was taken to this restaurant twice and I enjoyed the ambiance and the hearty food. It's always packed and it looks like the film set from another century. I guess we were lucky, the service was fast,...the food delicious, and we paid approximately 20 euros each, for a pork knuckle with dumpling dish and a pint of lager shandy. I would be back for the schnitzel (that looked delicious) and the sausage and sauerkraut. Cash only.More

Great meal with friends and family, good food, quick and nice service, always packed and good atmosphere. Wiener schnitzel very tasty. Well located in the heart of glockenbachviertel.

The dishes are really good and I recommend it to you if you want to try traditional Bavarian cuisine. However, the staff isn’t coordinated and the people at my table (we were 3) received the dishes at different times (40 minutes between one dish and...another).More

Ordered a salad as appetizer and a soup and Kaiserschmarren. Soup and Salad came together, and after one hour we left. Kaiserschmarren never came and server did not care.

First evening was great - beer delivered quickly then two dishes of different but good, regional food (sausages, potato purée and sauerkraut and cold fish with sauce and potatoes) came together with good red German wine. Staff busy but friendly. Next evening, not so great....Only 2 of 5 staff had turned up and the place was heaving. One dish came (very good calve’s liver) but the grilled peppers stuff with sheep’s cheese and with salad plus sautéed potatoes came 45 minutes later. The main waitress was adorable and we felt sorry for her, but if we’d not been before we would not have been able to recommend it on the basis of this night. So, staffing rota/reserve staff needs to be sorted! Average cost very good - 20€ per head for two drinks and a main. Lively, traditional beer Keller vibe. So, reserve a table ahead and check the staffing numbers on arrival. If all’s well, you’ll have a great night!More

Rude and unfriendly staff, was instructed (not asked) to give up my table for a group of 4 and to sit at a small 4 chair table with a couple. It was uncomfortable and ruined my visit.

Friendly service and good atmosphere, but awful food which took over an hour to arrive. Not worth the money and the detour. Needless to say we won't be back.

Food and Beer absolutely authentic ! Go for a Hirschkuss with the beer. You won’t regret it. Beware. Always packed, so make a reservation.
