When we walked into the restaurant, a very friendly waiter showed us where we could sit and he brought us two shots of Ouzu without asking. That was a very pleasant surprise.
As a warm starter I suggest Octopus which was very very good. I...specially loved the sauce. As main dish we had the fish dish which good and it also provide some rice with tomato sauce, a bowl of yogurt souce and some salat.
The portions were generous and we didn't want the dessert.
The stmosphere at Ammos was very pleasant.
Unluckly we had a problem, because their device for payment with the card was broken (and they were waiting for a new one to arrive) but noone told us about it before. So we had to go to a nearby Sparkasse ATM (about 500 m.) and then come back to pay. After that we expected a little discount or something little to drink for free, but nothing was offered to apologise for that inconvenience.
I will come back there in the future but I'll bring some cash with me, just in case.More
This isn't a place for vegetarians! My meat eating companions rated their food as average. Once you down it with Beer all ends well but if not you'll look surprisingly at the bill and wonder how expensive did vegetables get for being fried :)
14 euro for a salad with 2 scampi and 3 calamari and half tomato (I am not kidding, it is the truth two scampi and 3 calamari) is definitely too much. the food is good but in my opinion it is not acceptable!
There are so many positive things to be said about this restaurant. I've been here many times since they first opened. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very laid-back, one could see that the owners are in the business mostly because they enjoy it. The...dish I would recommend is the meat platter (although sometimes when you order too late in the evening, and they've run out of ingredients for the day, they would fill up your plate with other surprises).
They are very generous with complimentary treats like ouzo when you first enter the restaurant. At the end of the meal, they may provide more ouzo or a very delicious dessert with chocolate sauce and crushed nuts.
If you're going on Fridays, I recommend making a reservation first. When the weather is not bad, the garden is also open for seating.More
