This charming speakeasy inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is a great place to sit and enjoy craft cocktails. We lucked out the day we were there and they had guest bartenders making special drinks each hour. It was a fun way to spend some time on a cold winter evening.

Usually I'm a big fan of Ory Bar, before Corona I loved to come here and was looking forward to going there today. Drinks are amazing.
Tried calling today twice, but only the answering machine answered that we should make a reservation on the website. Went to the bar spontaneously at 00:30 asking if we could go in. Doorman laughed at us, saying haha you're insane if you think you can get in without a reservation. Said we tried calling twice and his answer was that if it it's busy the answering machine answers...so we went to another bar. Pretty disappointed, because the service before corona was amazing and was really looking forward to coming back :-(

We went there for a drink on Saturday evening. There were empty tables and space at the bar but they didn't want to give us a table.
The hostess was keeping saying that we need to wait for 5,10 or 30 minutes to get a table.
When we said about the empty place at the bar she answered that it wasn't clear if the guests left or not ironically.
This is not customer service approach,this is clearly a discrimination policy, who can seat or not. Sorry, if you need a minimum consumption, please let us know, we will be very happy to pay for it, but please say it.
Sorry about that guys! We want to have a nice Saturday night, and not in the mood trying to persuade the staff to give as a table at 00.00

Not only is this place a facade for the “pretentious elite” of Munich, it’s service is just as bad (if not worse) than the drinks. We originally were sat at a table where the seats where so far apart and unmovable that we could not have a conversation over the loud music. We had asked to move to an open table and were told yes. But someone jumped in front of us and sat down. So our hostess told us to wait and get the next table. When one opened up we rushed to sit. However it still had the past patrons drinks on it. We had a rude server come yell at us for sitting without her cleaning it first and she scolded us as this “ was not the German way” . She belittled us for being American and kept us waiting for drinks and service. We ordered their signature cocktails assuming they were good since every local said that this was the place to drink. They were not! We both drank overpriced nail polish. They were probably the nastiest cocktails I have had while traveling. I travel a lot! At check out again we were made fun of for being American and not knowing the German way!!! However we didn’t even have time to have a verbal exchange before she grabbed my card and rung up my bill. Needless to say this is a place worth going out of your way to skip!!

I have just left this place and I have to leave a review stating that this was a terrible experience for me and the group I was with. I visited with work colleagues and we all ordered cocktails. 3 of us ordered a gin fizz which we all agreed didn’t really meet expectations or what we were used to from this well known cocktail. We gave feedback to the bar staff and after 3 “interviews” and a comment from one stating they had recently won an award they finally offered to add more gin to our drinks and ensure we were happy. When we asked for the bill they had the cheek to charge us for the extra gin. This ended up being half the cost of the actual cocktail! So we each ended up paying 20.50 Euros for one cocktail and an upsetting experience. Left the place considerably annoyed and upset. Not sure how it won an award and do not care to give it another chance. Avoid.

A fantastic experience on a Saturday evening..... we had some great time and some great cocktails at this place. Absolutely recommended.... the service is outstanding ... all staff is super friendly to everybody. They give you the feeling that everybody is welcome. We will come back... for sure ....

My wife and I stopped for a drink and met up with some friends who were staying at the Mandarin Oriental where Ory is located. The atmosphere was quite nice, low key, stylish and relaxed. I did find it a bit dark though which could be partially attributed to the poor weather outside. I was having some difficulty deciding on a whisky based cocktail, thankfully our engaging and friendly server Nick was there to provide some insight and suggestions. Overall a very nice pre-dinner drink with good atmosphere and very friendly service.

Although cosy inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel entrance, Ory is a great little bar!
We met up with friends staying here & each had a drink before heading out to dinner.
Nick looked after us & was not only friendly but knowledgeable with all the drinks.
I had a Flying Carpet which is made up of
Sipsmith Gin, Galangal, Cucumber, Lime, Kewra & garnished with a continuous slice of cucumber which emulated a flying carpet. Very fresh & light it was a good predinner drink. Not weak in strength just light in taste/flavour.
Would definitely recommend Ory even if you are not staying at the hotel & I will be back!

Nothing much to say apart from it’s a nice bar, not very expensive for the quality of service and the ambiance! This is a great place for good cocktails! Go there if you’re in Munich! I will be back when I will be in town! And will advice it to my friends !

I have been coming to the bar with friends about twice a month since it opened. I have never been disappointed. The staff have always been very courteous and friendly. I have also been surprised by new cocktail creations every time. An absolute must for all fans of a well-kept bar. Highly recommended if you are out with business friends.

My visit to the Ory Bar was inspired by its award as "Hotel Bar of the Year" in the prestigious Falstaff list, and I must say it exceeded all expectations. The stylish interior, with elegant, dark wood paneling and cozy leather armchairs, immediately created a feeling of exclusivity and coziness.
The cocktail menu was a revelation. Each drink was a small masterpiece, perfectly matched in taste and presentation. Particularly impressive was the "Signature Cocktail", which was a highlight of the evening with its innovative taste and spectacular presentation.
The service in the Ory Bar was exemplary - attentive without being intrusive. The staff had an impressive knowledge of cocktails and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Their passion for their work and hospitality was clearly noticeable and contributed significantly to the positive overall impression.
The Ory Bar is more than just a bar; it is an experience space where you can immerse yourself in a world of sophisticated enjoyment. For anyone in Munich looking for an exceptional cocktail experience, a visit to the Ory Bar is an absolute must, especially after receiving the Falstaff award.
