The best japanese I have tried in Munich. Honest food, extremely polite staff. Try the udon soup, sukiyaki, tuna poke and for dessert the mochis!!

Genuine and tasty japanese restaurant with a cool vibe and amazing food. I love the decoration of the place, cozy and traditional. The service is friendly and super nice. And food was excellent. I would highly recommend you to try their miso soup and one...of their poke bowls. During lunch time, they have a daily menu which is super affordable (9,50€) and worth trying. And after 16:00 they have a Special menu that I would love to try. Unfortunately they close at 20:00 so you will have to do an early dinner.More

Having travelled for 2 months in Japan, we were literally in tears once eating here. This is exactly how Japan tastes, without an EU interpretation and no Sushi. Homemade food, soul food. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The owners/cooks/service givers are so attentive, the...background music is a perfect company to the meal and the minimalistic, yet warm, decoration of the place is peaceful and calm. So happy that we visited!More

Each time I visit Munich means having meal at this lovely place. Heat noodle soup, perfect tuna/salmon poke, properly brewed japanese tea(recommend genmaicha), handmade daifuku of the day.. and warm “homemade” experience-that’s what I value in this cafe. Wholesome fresh food, great tea and a...great mood is what you get. Totally recommend!More

I loved the food here so much I ordered not one but TWO dinners and dessert (for one) and now I am so full! After that, I ordered takeout (dinner for my boyfriend and I the next day and dessert). I can recommend: oyako don,...udon, Tofu don, and for dessert you must eat the mochi! Mochi is good but not something I would normally order but this mochi is soooo delicious we will eat it again next time we visit! Service was fast and polite, clean and nice decor!More

While I've only been to the Nomnom Kitchen twice once it was remodelled into a restaurant, my experiences with this place have been excellent both recently as well as in the past. The staff is polite, everything is neat and clean and, unlike some other...places in Munich that serve Japanese food, they have authentic set meals and use regular wooden chopsticks and metal cutlery instead of disposable ones. The set meals consist of one main dish with white rice, two side dishes and some fruit and are limited to 15 servings per day. However, it rarely gets sold out early since even during lunch break, a lot of people seem to prefer their rice bowl dishes/donburi. For a complete meal, I'd advise you to order some beverage, preferably tea, and a bowl of miso soup as extras. Aside from that, they also sell a small assortment of Japanese cakes, biscuits and breads, a rarity outside Japan itself. Unless you have an aversion against sweets, you should really try some of those out when you can.More
