When my local friend suggested this Malaysian restaurant I was thrilled as I have visited this lovely country frequently over the last 40+ years. First impressions were mixed - the interior looked an untidy mess but we were able to sit outside at a small...table under the trees although the seating was not very comfortable. When the waiter appeared after a while I said a few words in Bahasa Malaysia to him but he did not understand. He was Indian and spoke only English - no German either, not ideal for a restaurant in Germany. The menu was very limited and there were only two starters suitable for vegetarians and no veggie mains at all but maybe they could have improvised upon request. We ordered the mixed starter platter Macam macam for two which featured some light bites from Malaysia's different ethnic groups: pakoras, dim sum, wonton etc. Some were good, some less so and flavours ranged from aromatic and mildly spicy to quite bland. We had been persuaded to order some rotis which were rather heavy and a curry dip which didn't do anything for me. After that we were too full to order a main course. Just as well, as there were only seven dishes to choose from - I was missing virtually all of my favourites. We drank their variation on Mai Tai, and for me it was definitely not an improvement on the original. Our bill for 4 cocktails, 2 starters, 2 rotis and a dip was EUR82 before tip, too much for what was on offer. Not a bad place, but maybe I had expected too much.More

I am sure that you can have the same quality as theirs with half price in another Asian restaurant in Munich.

A small place (a bit hard to find) with serene Asian atmosphere. Wonderful owner and staff who care for their customers. A mango and radish salad and shrimp and glass noodles as the main dish. Highly recommend.

My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday while on a business trip away from home. The staff were super friendly and made this a birthday to remember. The food was great and the service was superb!

My husband and I tried Sutra (on Oct 12th) simply because it was near our hotel and we wanted a different cuisine than German. It's near the Westin Grand (where we stayed) and Arabella Park subway stop. It is worth the trip even if not...staying near by. The service was excellent and the food was really good. We had the shrimp dim sum with a spicy sauce, chili wonton, duck spring roll, kan kung sotong (not even sure how to describe this dish but it was fantastic), lemongrass curry chicken, chicken roti (so good!!) and udang serai carpaccio. Every single dish was delicious. If we had more room to eat, we would have kept eating. Don't miss this place if you're looking for a great place to eat.More

My wife (Malaysian) and I (Dutch) visited on October 10th, after reading some reviews. Finding is easy with google maps and after a short walk from our hotel We took some “tapas” dishes and lemon grass chicken curry. All yummy in a nice atmosphere.

After eating 3 (wonderful) heavy German meals during the last weekend of Octoberfest, we were looking for an alternative. Found it. My wife and I are addicted foodies. We like boldness and we like authenticity. Found it. Ok enough of the sermon structure. We were...staying in Arabella Park. Lots of apartments embedded with hotels, and small restaurants. Problem- the local building code forbids overt obvious advertising so this restaurant is not easy to find. Put the address in your GPS (Handy) and let your feet do the walking. Our dining experience: we ordered 4 tapas and then told our waiter of my handicap. I'm allergic to Sesame Seeds. The waiter came back in 2 minutes and we adjusted our Tapas order. They really took care of an impossible task. Asian food with out Sesame Seeds- not an easy task. They brought out each tapas a separate course. Each was daringly spicy. Great balance with lemongrass, heat, nuts, texture, and fresh aldente to crispy veggies. We followed with an order of Nan (i know different cuisine) and a beef curry. We were typically too stuffed for a desert, but the brought out a courtesy Mai Tai to die for. Think we liked this restaurant? Yesssss. One shortfall: They had no noodle dish. When I eat Asian cuisine, I want to be able to ask for noodles. Even maybe ask for a combination of noodles not on the menu. Their explanation was reasonable. Noodles is on their menu for lunch during the week, but on Saturday the have no lunch, ergo no noodles were prepared Misa en place. Oh well. We are still going back for their Duck Spring Roll.More

We first picked up an outside table because the weather was so nice, and after our drinks were brought, some uninvited guests came up. Honey bees. While we were fighting against them, a staff lady put some bronze coins she believed it to work but...in vain, so finally went inside. Anyway the foods were excellent especially the Orange Chicken, Prawn Dumpling and Crispy Fish. You should come when you’re staying at Westin or Sheraton hotel.More
