This traditional Bavarian Restaurant is a real gem. Located on a quiet side street it offers outside seating in good weather. The food and service are excellent, you won't find a better place

We had dinner here one day before the Oktoberfest starts. The Bavarian food was excellent but the place was extremely busy and noisy. The waitresses were really stretched but managed to be friendly and helpful through it all. I had veal goulash which was very good indeed.

Four of us dropped in last night, and had a really great time. Traditional Bavarian-style food, with their unique twists. We tried their sausages with sauerkraut, their pork medallions with a wonderful mushroom gravy, and an excellent vegetarian strudel dish. All were fantastic. Our waiter, Kurt, was super friendly, helpful, tolerant of our tourist-ness, and a fine photographer. We highly... More

My wife and I ate at Zum Durnbrau on the recommendation of a staff member of the Munich Marriott Hotel. It is about 2-3 blocks from the Hofbrauhaus. We had a great server named Marien who was very attentive and spoke good English. I had roast duck and my wife had Wiener schnitzel. Both were quite tasty, the service was... More

We enjoyed our meal at this traditional Bavarian restaurant. Highly recommend the pork knuckle as well as the steak (perfectly cooked). It's a bit off the path from the overcrowded beer halls which we enjoyed, and the weather was perfect for sitting outside in the courtyard.

This Bavarian restaurant is the proof that tradition and quality are possible even in a touristic area! A bit aside from Tal, a nice corner with great food and good beer. Prices are aligned with the central area, but it is well deserved, when compared with similar restaurants.

we ate here twice on our trip to munich-once on a busy saturday night when the place was packed and we managed to get squeezed in to one of the large indoor tables with other guests all around, the second night was quieter and we were seated outside in a beer garden at the back-both nights were great for atmosphere, food and... The welcome to the restaurant was really warm, a great start. The Wiener Schnitzels with roast potatoes were delicious. The roast duck with dumplings and red cabbage (with apple) was also excellent. It had very little fat and was very tasty and moist. Service was also excellent.

It was very pleasant dinner at the terrace. We like appetizers- salat with salmon and smoke trout and herring. Everything was fresh and so good, so we asked about cold vodka instead of one more beer. But beer- Franzishaner Wisesbier was also very good!! Dessert- Apple strudel with vanilla sauce must try.

I really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. The menu offered traditional meals and mainly focused on various types of sausages. I was little disappointed as my sister ordered the "meatloaf" (as stated on the English menu) which ended up being a hotdog! The service was okay but I have had better. I did enjoy the location as it is... More
