We had a lovely meal here having reserved online before we came. It was very busy so good atmosphere and staff very friendly and efficient. We had two main courses which were delicious and amazing kaiserschmarm. Would revisit as decent wine for me as a non beer drinker ( sinful in Munich!).

This was our first restaurant in Munich. It is easy to find and only a short walk from Marienplatz. I had the beef sauerbraten and my wife had the mushrooms with knodel. Both were very good but be forewarned the food here is heavy as is most German food and there was a lot of it. We went early but... More

For the past several years I have made it a practice of dining at Zum Dürnbräu, one of my favorite restaurants, when in Munich. This latest visit was no exception. During a week period in November 2016 my wife and I visited Zum Dürnbräu on two occasions, both times for dinner. This restaurant has a friendly wait staff and serves... More

This was suggested by the hotel when I asked for recommendations for good traditional local food. They accommodate English, Italian and Russian speaking tourists with translated menu's. The food was amazing and the Menu had such great choice it was difficult to decide what to have. The prices was very reasonable especially considering the food was so good. I would... More

We wandered around a little too late and was having a hard time finding a kitchen that was still open and that served German food. Our hotel pointed this place out and got us a seat. We had a couple of big steins of beer, the obligatory weiner schnitzel and a sweetbread/ofal sausage thing that was outstanding. Food atmosphere with... More

Certainly one of my favourites beer kellers in Munich. It's small, dark, serves great beer and all the traditional Bavarian menu options, some very, very traditional. The appeal of this place is it's size. Too many places in Munich are big, noisy, cater mainly for tourists and often serve short measures. It is less than 2 minutes walk from Marienplatz... More

Went into this restaurant on our first night in Munich. It was full when we arrived. We were told there will be seats available soon and we decided to wait since every restaurant is full and crowded in Munich on that night. Staffs were friendly, welcoming and patient. We ordered some signature German dishes like the pork knuckle, roast pork... More

Great restaurant with quiet beer garden dining of the beaten path of the Karlsplatz area. The Service, food and drink were great. Would definitely go back next visit to Munich.

I had obatzda: I had never tried that in my life and it did nit really meet my taste. The main dish was duck with those weird potato balls they have in bavarian places. Definitely not my kind of food, even though I guess that's how it was supposed to be. Very nice waitress.
