I loved the restaurant. I've tried some of the neighboring restaurants, but I prefer Alpenstuben. The food is delicious. Loved their apple strudel. Their port knuckle is delicious. Staff is friendly and speak English. You can also try their hotdog stand if you do not have time to dine in.

We stopped for a coffee /tea because we arrived earlier than our scheduled visit to Neuschwainstein. Good service, nice stuff. The hotel is quite pricy, but the restaurant is OK

The restaurant is part of the Alpenstuben hotel. It is the best place to eat in town. Food is typically Bavarian and cooked to order. I recommend the Pig Knuckle or the Venison. The Pig Knuckle sounds odd. However, it is common in Germany and other parts of central Europe. The meat melts in your mouth and the portions are... More

We arrived mid morning and saw the castle right outside of our window. Staff was excellents and got tickets for both castles. I recommed at least 3 hours apart to get both castles in. You can do both easily in one day. A lot of walking though. Staff at this hotel was great. Food was amazing also

Good food and service. Clean place and accommodating to people with timed tickets for the castles. Recommend for lunch.

As there are only two dining options in town in the evening, choice is at best limited. This hotel restaurant is bright and airy, the staff charming (our waiter Marco was a dream) and the food reasonably priced and hearty. I couldn't really fault it.

While not a "gourmet" restaurant, we really enjoyed the hearty dishes after spending a day viewing the castles and climbing. The staff were excellent! For the price, a very good value. Especially good for traditional Bavarian fare.

After our long day of castle exploration, we were starving! My husband saw that the hotel restaurant was serving schweinshaxe, and he wanted to see how authentic it was. (It was very authentic and delicious!) I had a goulash made from red deer, and that was delicious as well. Only tip is to sit indoors unless you want to smoke.... More

We stayed down the road, but were told that this was the only restaurant open after 5 pm. Evidently, we just entered low season and this was it. So, we ordered Jaegerschnitzel and spaetzle. The spaetzle was very good. The meat was pretty salty, but I have to admit that we do not use a lot of salt, so that... More
