As there are only two dining options in town in the evening, choice is at best limited. This hotel restaurant is bright and airy, the staff charming (our waiter Marco was a dream) and the food reasonably priced and hearty. I couldn't really fault it.

While not a "gourmet" restaurant, we really enjoyed the hearty dishes after spending a day viewing the castles and climbing. The staff were excellent! For the price, a very good value. Especially good for traditional Bavarian fare.

After our long day of castle exploration, we were starving! My husband saw that the hotel restaurant was serving schweinshaxe, and he wanted to see how authentic it was. (It was very authentic and delicious!) I had a goulash made from red deer, and that was delicious as well. Only tip is to sit indoors unless you want to smoke.... More

We stayed down the road, but were told that this was the only restaurant open after 5 pm. Evidently, we just entered low season and this was it. So, we ordered Jaegerschnitzel and spaetzle. The spaetzle was very good. The meat was pretty salty, but I have to admit that we do not use a lot of salt, so that... More

We had several meals in this restaurant and were never disappointed. Order the tasty Goulash soup, vegetables on risotto. Choose the Farmer's Plate and eat like a peasant. Get the Roast Pork Knuckle and wash down with King Ludwig's Beer. Desserts were excellent too. We enjoyed the meal and service in this homely restaurant.

We ate here twice as the staff was so friendly and the food was so delicious. We shared the Jagerschnitzel and had salads and it was more than enough. Another evening we had the gulashzuppe which was rich and hearty. Nice location and outdoor or indoor eating.

Budget restaurant with relatively large selection, although it is not the most light cuisine. One of the few restaurants in Hohenschwangau that remains open after 6pm.

Came here on the recommendation of the hotel we were staying in. Found it was run by the person who owes the Hotel Ludwig. Very friendly and helpful. Ghoulash soup was delicious and steak, chips and gravy was very tasty. Would recommend it to others.

Dined here in 2014, so on return visit this year we returned to this restaurant. it was not as I remembered it. Food was average and although expensive was in keeping with prices in this touristy area. Ordered a bottle of wine (mid priced), which was very nice but when bill came charged for the most expensive bottle on the... More
