My daughter and I were in Coburg for two occasions this month. Based on the good reviews, (and because my daughter loves a well-made burger) we visited the Hungry Highlander for dinner. What a great find! We actually had several dinners there over the course of our visits ( which is very unusual for us). We just really enjoyed the... More

Great atmosphere and food. Well worth the visit. If you get a chance sit outside, even if it rains, there is enough cover out there. Staff is very nice, food is fantastic and a great price - delicious! During the two week stay, we went quite often, including to watch the UEFA 2016 and it was fun!

Friendly staff, great beer and burgers. Curry's smelt lovely. We were in the covered court yard, watching the euros 2016 football. Received great service even if we couldn't speak any German. Seems to fit a youngish crowd. the inside is dark and is very basic, but nice.

The chef is from New Zealand, you can get Indian Dishes here. The menu is specific for everyday. You can get vegetarian Indian dishes for a decent price. The ambience is Quaint and the complete ambience has a smoky but pleasant odor which makes you feel like amidst real Bavarian enclosure.

A rustic ambience with very good and always fresh food. Delicious! Don't miss to ry the Hungry Highlander Burger and the sweet pineapple quesadilla. They also have a lot of different good beers.

Whether the typical German Stammtisch, students, couples, families... This place just suits everybody. It's a rather old place with a never changing charme. Staff is very helpful (speak English too) but a bit "confused" once in a while. Food is great and they have great variety, coming from wraps, burgers, curry, chilli, etc. Prices are very decent. Kitchen is a bit... More

Run by Scots this place is one of the Top Pubs in Coburg. Food is good, prizes are ok and if the weather is fine it is a pleasure to ist in the beergarden!

The Hungry Highlander is a gem - good food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. It appeals to everyone apparently - family groups, students, daters, etc. It is not quiet. The emphasis is on FUN, even for the staff. Hurrah for the Scot who established it. We'd return anytime!

Here the food is great, particularly the curries and the wraps. The staff is fast and very friendly if not always very organised - even willing to speak English. The general atmosphere is probably the closest you will get to a Scottish pub in Germany.
