Food is goo in quality and quanitity! Sometimes a bit too much quantity, buz you can always take it with you. Prices are totally fine. The waitresses can be moody, but that's fine. You will forget it when you realized that it feels like you have travelled back in time a bit. It's a must if you are looking for... More

Nice restaurant in Mannheim. The place is simple and small, however the food and the employees are great. If you are not German, the size of the portions might be a little scary! Just a lot! I tried the Jägerschnitzel with salad and Bratkartoffeln. Really worthy a second visit.

This was my first German dinner in Mannheim and I enjoyed it thoroughly! The food portions were huge enough so that one portion can be shared by two ladies. Food and beer was great and comforting and it was a pleasant welcome to my stay in Mannheim.

Stepping into this restaurant gives you a feeling of the typical German home. The owners were very friendly and the lady tried to explain each dish on the 'Special Dish of the day' menu. Portions are relatively big for the typical Asian like us and we should have shared one main course for two. Generally very good value for money.... More

A very interesting restaurant in Mannheim that has a long history and serves really great food in an individual style which I am told very traditionally German. I was surprised at how good value our dinner was ....two people, three courses, wine and coffee all for €40. Really very good.

This restaurant should be Michelin rated for its delicious and sumptuous German cuisine. The portions are plentiful enough to stuff a brawn American man's hunger. The service is attentive and fast by a nice German lady server who was also helpful giving us the description of the choices in the menu to help us make our entrée decision. And you... More

Really a typical restaurant in the city center of Mannheim. The atmosphere is very good and it is really a place for people from the area, it is difficult to find here people in the city for a business trip. The food is typical German of the area and the quality is very good, if you like rare meat ask... More

Every time we come to Mannheim, we try to go to Hemmlein. The food is fantastic - everything of German typical food you can imagine - like Maultauschen, Schnitzel, Hering etc. - is available. The price is very reasonable and the ambiente is refreshengly non-fancy but rustic-cozy. Go there - you will enjoy!

Our German professor took us, his international students learning German to Hemmlein. Its a little restaurant tucked away into one of the areas in the "Quadrat". Its also apparently the oldest restaurant in Mannheim. You can always find a lot of locals who probably also have their regular tables. I had the "Rösti", an amazing dish of shredded potatoes made... This is a real cosy german red check tablecloth restaurant no pretentions This place sells fine hearty German cuisine in traditional surroundings with a warm welcome and friendly. Nothing fancy on a plate here. Bean soup was hearty well made and tasty. I had a large portion of fried liver served with gravy potato croquettes and a salad. My wife... More
