The restaurant in the ancient hotel is a delight. First class service in a white linen establishment. Right on the Hauptstrassse in Alt stadt. Gourmet dining in great setting. The interior of the hotel is worth a look. Dining here is a win-win situation. Pricey it is, but worth it. They feature game from nearby hunts.

It was a great pleasure to return to the Restaurant zum Ritter; The food was fantastically delicious (fish and salad). The service was personal, elegant, friendly, and impeccable. When in Heidelberg; eat here!

Nice hotel, located in the middle of everything. Rooms are modern, although the building is old. The biggest negative is the noise. Rooms around the courtyard get kitchen noise, rooms on the side street get late night and early morning noise from people dragging luggage to garbage pickup. Also, at 15 Euros, breakfast is very expensive.

Lunch was included at this restaurant as part of the Viking River Cruise Cities of Lights on The Idun. The restaurant and staff were prepared in advance but unfortunately all of the tour groups arrived at this place at the same time and it became very busy. Lunch was a set menu which included wine, soft drinks, and local pilsner... More

We met friends for lunch after touring Schloss Heidelberg and before we started our Christmas shopping. Ritter St Georg looked very inviting and we were not disappointed. My wife and I both ordered the pork medallions, which turned out to be huge tender boneless cuts of pork served with mushrooms, spaetzel, sauerkraut and gravy. Absolutely delicious with a local pilsner.... More

what a unique experience to dine at the knight St. Georg! The fish with rosemary was great! Also a very good selection of fine wines! Highly recommended!

During a Viking River Cruise this was our lunch stop in Heidelberg. The Rouladen was excellent, but was accompanied by dumplings and not enough gravy. There was NO red cabbage, which I personally consider a necessity with Rouladen. I also think Spätzle should be served not dumplings. Now having said that, this meal was still excellent and I ate it... More

It was a terrible experience in this hotel. They REALLY hate babies. They are not equipped at all for infants and treat parents and their children very rude! In the restaurant 50% of the seats were empty and they said there were reserved. So they gave us a table with 4 seats for us 4 adults and no place to... More

We walked in on a rainy chill evening without a reservation and were kindly seated in an area that I think was used for large groups. There were few other diners and I wondered if we'd be overlooked in service. This turned out to the opposite. Truly we had th best most attentive service of our entire visit. The service... More

We were able to have lunch at this beautiful old restaurant during our visit to Hidelberg. It was a very hot 90 degree day for Germany so my one complaint is we were quite uncomfortable while we ate. The atmosphere was charming and the food delicious. I understand these old buildings do not have central air which I am not... More
