This is one of the most hidden traditional restaurants in Heidelberg. The interieur is made of wooden carpenter tables. They just have a few tables (4) so you should bettet reserve in case you are more then 2 people. If you are lucky they squeeze you in somewhere. All dishes are very tasty and good quality. They serve great wine... More

We were hoping to eat here based on the reviews but it was unfortunately too crowded by the time we got there. We did go inside and the food smelled and looked delicious!

Very interesting interior, looks like old inn, the place is overcrowded and sometimes one should wait for a table (they do not accept reservations). Traditional menu, I took zupa cebulowa, it was OK but nothing special and schniztel with garlic, but schnitzel was overfried, potatoes as well, the dish was not very tasty. I was dissappointed, since I heard about... More

The host was borderline hysteric in telling us to go away when house was full - very impolite. At the second try another day, we ate only to be greeted with a soggy schnitzel. Don't go here.

After one-day travel, I used TripAdvisor to find this restaurant to have dinner. I showed the waiter online picture and knew which one it was on the menu. The food is nice. I love cream and mushroom. The amount is sufficient.

This place is truly a gem, just off the strip, great food, drink and conversation. Community tables create a great dinning experience, especially for non native. A must visit if you can get in.

Typical German restaurant in a very dark area. You share table with everyone. We met a nice couple from Connecticut. He was a spine surgical on his way to convention in Strasbourg So different as other places. Had a crispy schnitzel with "sauerkraut" and a "schweinenax" MIT sauerkraut and brat kartofeln. So good and so German Price very low so... More

Heidelberg may have been jammed with Weihnachtsmarkt revelers, with tables at a premium at Schnitzelbank, but you'd never have known from the warm welcome that greeted us when we arrived at 7 pm on Sunday. Our genial host seated us right away even though a reservation hadn't been possible. I can still taste (in a good way) the Garlic schnitzel,... More

The place is so specific for German restaurants: small, oldish, but very very nice. The staff is also very friendly. We totally recommend this place

When I travel solo, there's nothing more rewarding than finding a restaurant that serves amazing food and has an English menu (and English speaking owners/waiters). This place checks it all and the owner is amazingly friendly. The schnitzel is probably the best I've ever and goes well with a glass of wine drowned in seltzer (crazy combo but refreshing)
