Simple food that was well prepared. Server was incredibly sweet and helped us out in explaining how much we should order :) $32 for a bottle of great house wine, pumpkin soup, potatoes gratin, and two tartines!

We had to wait about 15min for a table for lunch after some heavy rain was over. The food was great and we just looked around at what everyone was eating and ordered. Unbelievably good food for only 57 euros for 3 people. We had our first tartines and were they great. I highly recommend this place!

L'Epicerie is a busy atmospheric little place decorated with shelving of old kitchen cupboard items. They have great tartines (open-faced sandwiches), potatoes gratin, and delicious fruit tarts at great prices. The beer is over-priced and the carafes of wine are not the best quality, but the casual atmosphere and good prices make it a great stop when you just want... More

A big range of tartines, all very cheap. We particularly enjoyed the sweet tartine (nutella or speculoos). Huge hot chocolates - hot milk served in a bowl and then you add as much chocolate powder as you like. Nice authentic French decor in the restaurant

The place is open after 3pm, which is not the case with every restaurant in Lyon. It was very good for late lunch/early dinner. We had soup, burger tartines and a plate 'mer et terre ', food was good and fresh, priced reasonably. Not too fancy, but quite popular.

Agree with reviewer Tammam A, the tartines leave a lot to be desired. Do NOT order the goat's cheese and thyme tartine, it is literally thick chunks of stale bread with the thinnest scraping of white gunk. The side salad was literally an overpriced bowl of greens. I tried the white and rose wines to go with these, and both... More

We had lunch at L'Epicerie and we were really happy about the quality of the food and service! The place offers quite a fast service, really nice sandwiches and water on the house. The prices are not so bad either. The only downside about the place is that if you want to catch a table outside, it might be hard... More

The idea is great, the execution is not so much so. It is all in the details. I like the place, the people are nice and it was packed for a Thursday lunch so we went on. We ordered a tartine of sautéed meat which turned out to be practically sauce bolognaise and cheese and a tartine of marinated anchovies... More

As visiting and walking through Lyon we came through that restaurant. At 11 30 the restaurant was empty, at 12.00 it was full. The food is simple, genuine, great. The service is really nice, fast and frendly!!! Go there for a light meat, it is just great!!!
