I was bowled over by the interesting, varied, delicious food. Never thought I would enjoy andouille but it was wonderful. We started with a mini hamburger, a bit sweet for me, but the next 5 shot glasses with superb things were just what I wanted...and so it went on. We had the regional lyonnais menu Quite delightful. Staff looked a... More

We went for my sister-in-law's 21st birthday. We had the chef's table in the kitchen etc., but it doesn't matter. the sheer wit, attention to detail and flavour were remarkable. If you're in Lyon, and can get in, fill your boots.

Uninspiring setting, but genuine welcome and space around the tables. Some very interesting lunch menus, including a completely vegetarian one - unusual for a Michelin star resto in France (and yes, the 2016 star was there). Overall, a lovely long, relaxed lunch experience with a wide variety of quality ingredients, and interesting dishes (a Snickers based dessert... my son will... More

A credit to the Lyonnais. adjacent to the palais du justice Elegant cuisine well chosen simple wine list. Before going on to see Saracens win European glory six of us had a glorious meal. We had the Lyon regional menu Highly recommended

May 15th had dinner at L'Alexandrin. The place was fully booked that evening, with also the presence of a group of 11 people that eve - this did, luckily, not generate too much noise. The place is not very big and rather traditionally decorated. During our dinner it was pretty warm in the restaurant. We opted for the Esprit de... More

I cannot understand why another reviewer recently wrote that this restaurant lost its Michelin star. I carefully checked and they have a one star in 2014 Michelin guide. We had a very pleasant evening there. The food was excellent, and easy to understand (no unnecessary sophistication). The service was friendly, even if the hostess can appear "reserved" sometimes. What was... More

Extremely disappointed with this Michelin Star restaurant - definitely not worth the price. Visited on a Saturday night - they only had 4 tables of guests. Restaurant was hot and stuffy. Seems that even though there were 3 servers, only 1 of them was doing the serving, the other 2 were probably new and simply awaiting orders. Food was average,... More

We recently went to L'Alexandrin on a weekend trip to Lyon, and can easily see why the restaurant lost its Michelin star. While the quality of the food was decent, the service was so bad and rude that it completely ruined the experience. There were only two servers for the room on a Saturday night and they were outrageously slow... More

Attended as a group of 4 and had the very best of nights. Had the tasting Lyon menu and came away extremely contented and very happy. It would rate as one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was simply brilliant and well synchronised. I believe it is a husband and wife team ably assisted by some... More

Have been coming to Lyon for Bocuse D'or for many years and for once had the experience of trying L'Alexandrin. It was well worth the wait Had the tasting menu which that night featured the Truflle, went all in 5 course menu, also the option was there not to have truffle with every course, so at least you can experience...
