Restaurant advised by my entourage and big disappointment on a dish.
The beef loc Lac had only the name: Slatted meat embedded in a thick sauce clearly industrial (we recognize well powdered sauce), natural rice without any fragrance. We are far from the standard: marinated beef in cubes with a little salt and fragrant tomato rice.
It is not a Loc Lac beef but a meat in sauce with some white rice.
I still put 3 because the dish is quite hearty and the service adorable!

In the Viet Quarter of Lyon, a true Asian restaurant offering authentic traditional cuisine. If you love Vietnamese food this is a right address for you. Small, with a very familiar atmosphere (and could not be otherwise seen by those who are run). The place is overall simple, but clean and the service polite. Home cooking for a classic Suop "Pho" grand bol, water and coffee. Fast in the output of the dish, excellent preparation and good raw material. Value for money I would say good. Royal vote: four and a half dots.

A well known local restaurant serving above average cuisine. Even as a regular client, they are arrogant when it comes to service. They do not give a damn about it. Reordering means you are a total pain in the ass customer wasting their time.
The younger gentleman at the counter is slightly more polite than the grumpy old man.
Cash is king so no credit card. You can request 20% discount if you do not get a receipt. Tax deductible.

Absolutely love their pho soup. The restaurant is super cozy and authentic and the service is on point. They don’t take credit card payments so make sure to have some cash ( the accept tickets restos or bank checks for the locals)
Totally recommend this place if you are looking for a authentic, not over the top, Asian restaurant.

We went there yesterday as we were craving Vietnamese during our trip to Lyon. This is one of the few places open during holidays and afternoon. And we are lucky it is one-off the good ones.
The Nems and Bun Bo Xao are authentic, sizeable, flavourful and simply enjoyable. The service was a bit messy with unclear split of responsibilities. Make sure you bring cash with you.

Good quality asian food with an attentive service offered by the members of this family run restaurant.
I took a delicious bobun and nems. It was simple but tasty.
Opened all day long wich is great when you are looking for a place to eat in the afternoon.

France is not known for its superior asian food. It especially is not known for authentic and good tasting asian food.
Phnom Pich however is the exception. I ate at this place for about 4.5 years and enjoyed it everytime. It felt like I was taking a break from France and going back to Asia.
The staff are super nice and the place feels very familial. The price and portions are great. Introduced many friends/family to this place and many will return.
Wish the staff all the best!

Went to this restaurant during our week long stay in Lyon.
Pho was ok. Good broth, but beef was overcooked and they supplement this with processed beef balls. To be fair, this was stated in the menu.
The crispy seafood noodles were a good choice and the vietnamese springs rolls were good.
Sadly the grumpy owner put a dent in the whole experience.

This was our second visit to this street whilst in Lyon and it was not a disappointment. We were warmly welcomed and invited to a seat at a table for 4, so we had a little room. The waiter's english was far better than our french, the menu is in french so we ordered nouilles craquantes sautees aux fruits de mers and aux cantonaise. We did see another patron eating a spring roll which looked delicious so we asked for an order of those too. One serving is 2 pieces, so we had a serving to share. The spring roll or Rouleau du printemps were divine - really fresh and tasty. Unfortunately our main course was fried noodles (obviously the craquantes bit)! which were just too crispy for us. The sauces were very good though and tasty. We also had 46cl of white wine with our meal. The total cost was 27.3 E which was very reasonable. This restaurant had table cloths and was more upmarket than the restaurant we tried next door. Food was good but it was a shame there was no english translation. Would recommend.

Located in the heart of Lyon's Guillotière neighborhood, Le Phnom Pich is a quaint little family restaurant specializing in Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisine. We have been in Lyon over two years, and this is one of our most regularly visited restaurants, (out of our many favorites). Well worth the trip from Villeurbanne for us!
Whether you are in the mood for phở, or want to try an excellent noodle dish, Le Phnom Pich always delivers. Consider sharing appetizers with your tablemates, as you will want to try them all! For your main course, I highly recommend the Soupe Spéciale Phnom Pich or Bò Bún Beouf /Poulet
Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Guillotière metro and tram stops, Le Phnom Pich is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with friends and coworkers. It is small and easy to miss, so just look for the "Phở" sign hanging above the door. Be sure to bring cash, as they do not accept credit or debit cards at this time.

Dear Sir,
I allow myself to write you some few words in order to thank you for your positive comments about the restaurant "Phnom-Pich".
As you said, I am one of the family member who run the restaurant and I've found by chance your comment.
Well, if you are still in Lyon, we will be pleased to welcome you in our restaurant.
Best regards,
Maurice PEAK.

Phnom Pich is a small Cambodian restaurant in the Guilliotiere area. The menu is similar to that of other Asian restaurants in the neighborhood and dishes embrace the various cuisines of Southeast Asia. Quick but friendly service. It is certainly a special experience for those who are not used to certain flavours.

Fast service for a lunch break, same quality as before, especially since it's an Asian restaurant in France which does not put glutamate in their dish. If he could please us with the quantity...
