The waiters were kind enough although seemed pretty hasty to take our order. Food was good but as it's conveniently located in the centre of Lyon, it's not top quality. It's fairly average and a little overpriced to be honest. I had a filet of beef which was cooked nicely but I don't think it should have cost me 20... More

Rue des Marronniers is a mixed bag: plenty of restaurants but few that make a positive impression. Le comptoir des marronniers is one of those good places. The menu lyonnais is competitive with the traditional fares well cooked, and the staff is friendly if busy. Recommended.

Chose this restaurant over the others in the street as it looked the most welcoming and had the most impressive menu. Was not let down. The waiting staff were fantastic with my dietary requirements, even though I only speak a little french, and the food exceeded expectations. I had the aubergine dish to start and the duck for main, and... More

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry. I had the Cesar Salad w/chicken - was very good and large (€16), wife had the lamb chops (4 w/veggies) which was very good also (€22) and ice tea (€4.5). The place was very busy - lots of locals.

Back to Lyon after quite a long time, I must say that It was a must to go Rue des Marronniers for a bite. Le comptoir is a mouthwatering venue, the food is simple and the lunch menu is good, qualitative and affordable. Succulent mushroom soup, excellent "Andouillette". A bit disappointed by the Creme de Marrons though as I was... More

I want to start by saying that the service was terrible. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and yet it took 15 minutes to get menus and 35 minutes before we had water and wine. From their it was downhill. We were a party of four and ordered our starter courses and entrees. Our starter courses came out quickly... More

The food is not bad, but the french fries were burned and my dish didn't have a salad, although it really needed one. The service was too slow. I'm not coming back.

Although arrived late for lunch, they prepared my order (frog legs in garlic sauce and potato with mushrooms in the side). Polite staff and English speaking (important)! I was impressed by the famous chefs and customers that were depicted in wall photos.

Although we booked our table earlier that afternoon it was taken by others so not a good start. Service very slow and offhand (waited a long time for a drink). Main course very average. The quenelles brochet (pike) was very unappealing and stodgy and the veal "chop" was a piece of beef overcooked, cold, with a tasteless sauce. It got... More

Euro2016 visit in busy restaurant street was pleasant and food traditional & good. Service was nice and friendly. One star lost from limited wine selection and lack of proper wine glasses.
