A true example of how the owner/manager can really make your experience. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the time we left, with very full bellies! The food is very Lyonaisse, I really had no idea what to order but just went with the owners recommendations and was not disappointed. The rich, full flavours... More

Were in Lyon for Euros semi-final with my son. He's a foodie and wanted a typical Lyonaisse meal, found this restaurant on-line. Excellent choice. Very local, very Lyonaisse. Friendly staff especially the manager who is a character. We made friends with people sitting next to us who were related to the manager. Voila! Food not for the faint of mind,... More

All I can say is WOW. The food was superb, true bouchon style with Lyonese specialities. Cream, butter and full flavors. Delicious house red wine in the tiniest wine glasses ever! Sit by the long table outside and make some new local friends. The authenticity strike us hard and it will be a long time until a restaurant will take... More

We were recommended the restaurant by a local wine bar owner otherwise we would never have though to go. Entrance is from an alleyway past the kitchen where the atmosphere was very informal and jovial. Excellent local Lyonais food from a restaurant which has been around for decades. Not to be missed

The chef owner was friendly and he just sits down and tells you what he had made that day. Hes very patient with non french speaker. His english is good enough to tell you. No written menus. Absolutely fantastic no matter what you choose. NOTE you cannot enter through front door. Go in the museum around to the dumpster by... More

When I arrived I was surprised how basic it was but I enjoyed the food more than I expected, it's basically good home cooking but my own home cooking is better so even though the atmosphere was great I'm still only giving it a three. It cost €110 for 3 small courses and a bottle of wine I felt it... More

An unassuming, inexpensive bouchon in the 1st arrondissement which is just fantastic. The menu is handwritten in French, but the chef sits down with you and explains everything in English. 3 courses and a carafe of wine cost around 30 euros. The food is rich, hearty, full of flavour and has a home cooked feel to it. Portions are plentiful.... More

Intimate atmosphere with the owner-chef going to table to table to explain the menu. Limited English was never an impediment. One can experience the community feeling, comfort food done at such high and consistent level that they look effortless. Everything we had ordered were very good to superb. Caution though the restaurant was often booked full a couple of days... More

Stumbling on this place quite by accident, we couldn't get a table inside as it was fully booked (a good sign) sitting outside there were only 5 little cafe tables all joined together due to the narrow street, we were quickly joined by several other Lyonasie lunch-timers who were all busy conversing in french around us and did not seem... Excellent cuisine, loved being at the tables typical of a "bouchon" and appreciated the input of other diners, all of whom seemed to be regulars at this restaurant. There is even a hidden passage going out the back (a "treboule")--lots of history here, Le Musee is a good name for it. Highly recommend the quenelles of pike and the pork... More
