We had dinner in this restaurant run by young chef Benjamin Nieto.
The room is large and decorated in an industrial design style highlighting the materials of this old building (golden stones, etc.) and the room service is attentive.
We enjoyed the house cocktail accompanied by Basque sardinillas.
The lamb rice was delicious with its crunchy vegetables accompanied by an excellent Beaujolais. The desserts were also very successful with a special bonus for the strawberry pistachio tart.
The chef is also very present in the room, attentive to discussions with the guests 👍 The products are of high quality and very well crafted with just the right amount of inventiveness to have a good evening

Nice surprise for this small restaurant / Bistro in Croix Rousse, where we had lunch after visiting the Maison des Canuts. Small terrace in the very pleasant courtyard.
Pleasant service, fresh and rather seasonal products. Not cheap, but dishes with taste!
I enjoyed the “Mountain pig filet mignon in a herb crust, seasonal vegetable garden and black garlic jus”.
And special mention for the dessert, the “Pistachio Financier and its diplomatic cream, peach soup, roasted apricots and verbena sorbet”, which we licked our lips.

It is worth getting out of the tourist areas. At the same time, the restaurant is not that far from the center: only two underground stations from the City Hall. The staff is very warm and put customers at ease from the very first moment. They enjoy fraternizing with customers and take care of them very attentively. It only made the dinner even more enjoyable. The food is simply perfect: from starter to dessert. Everything was definitely done with a lot of love. Congratulations to the whole team.

So I'll start with the room: rather nice, but no coat rack for clothes, in detail, dishes not very neat (glasses whitened by the LV, ordinary bread presented in cheap baskets, cleanliness of the toilets to be reviewed)
Neat cuisine? No not at all. The dishes could be original but the quality is not there, for our part, lamb sweetbreads soaked in oil, served breaded and fried, roughly mixed with sautéed potatoes, no research.
We are completely distorting the sweetbreads which should be valued... a pure waste, it is fatty, heavy and without any flavor (on leaving I saw the way the cook cooked them in the pan filled with "oil and frankly it's not cooking. Dish served lukewarm at that. For the starter, pig's trotters with marrow, ok but lacks pep!
For wines, a countless list of wines between 70 and 150 euros per bottle, completely out of sync with the style of the restaurant and the quality of the dishes which does not match.
Lots of wines taken off the list (with a pen) so little affordable choice!
The service is urgent and when you have the misfortune of giving your opinion on the extremely disappointing dish, we no longer come to see you, we forget you and when we leave the restaurant, the chef has no words.
The service is not friendly, there is no research into tableware, it is very rude.

Nous regrettons vivement votre commentaire et nous excusons sincèrement de ne pas vous avoir satisfait lors de votre visite.
Nous sommes très surpris sur votre retour concernant les ris d’agneau qui sont un des plats phares et des plus vendus avec le ragoût de pieds de cochon. En effet, les ris d’agneau sont beaucoup plus petits que les ris de veau et ne peuvent être présentés comme une « pomme de ris de veau » . Il est noté sur le menu, cuit au beurre mousseux, c’est peut être ce qui vous a donné l’impression qu’ils baignaient dans l’huile mais encore une fois nous sommes très loin d’une friture. Pour le côté pané sachez qu’ils sont juste légèrement farinés, on est bien loin d’un nugget par exemple.
Nos toilettes sinon sont nettoyés entre chaque service et malheureusement nos verres ont récemment blanchis par l’usure.
Et si je peux, plus personnellement, noté la qualité de votre présence, sachez que vous pouvez éduqué votre fils au bonjour, à l’amabilité, au fait de ne pas garer sa trottinette au plein milieu du trottoir devant la porte du restaurant et parler de manière correcte sans dédain au personnel de salle. Ne confondez pas service et servitude. Vous avez été fort désagréable dès votre entrée dans le restaurant et du coup oui je n’ai pas eu envie de venir débattre avec vous.

Come as a couple, in a nice patio that is quieter than the room where the music is too loud. We were surprised to be asked directly if we wanted to drink something and then would you have a bottle? We just wanted the card to choose. Menu of the day at 23rd, it was good, otherwise the à la carte dish was much too expensive +- 27€.

For my part only the plate of charcuterie to share was excellent. For the rest both greasy with a very bitter sauce!!! Boundary burned. No luck and we put it back for dessert with the fondant. Ok chocolate valronas (which I know well) may sincerely no taste in this dessert. Too bad. I had been here a little over a year ago. I had kept rather a good memory but there very very boff!! If there is one of the secret places of Lyon to discover it is Chez Lucien.
An intimate, quiet and smelly patio. The welcome is warm and the service perfectly organized and fluid. The proposed menu is sufficiently diverse for all pallis to find their taste. Excellent cuisine, no complaints ..
The dishes are original, well cooked and we feasted.
Only downside, the totally offbeat attitude (too drunk??) of Benjamin (boss? waiter? cook? new, we don't know?)
We regret this gracious attitude, with attitudes that seemed even out of step with the rest of the staff and the waitress in particular.

Great little gem in the middle of Croix-Rousse. Small menu of ever changing items based on seasonal foods available. Creative cooking with a slight Basque influence. We imagined the dishes were not delicious but also artful—each evocative of the mascot of the restaurant. The friendly staff pictured on the website are even friendlier in person!

Not exactly centrally located so you're hesitant at first to book this place, but OMG, that food is so f*ck*ng delicious!!! It's not cheap, but definitely not overpriced, as you get big portions of fantastic food. Anything else to mention? The staff are superfriendly and they do everything they can to give you a great experience. If i were living in Lyon, i'd go back instantly! :-)

I went with my wife and kids (11&15) to this place recommended by Anne from Les Loges du Theatre (Chambre d’hôtes). And what a good restaurant to go ! We took the menu (starter/main course/dessert) at 32 EUR. The restaurant is in the area of La Croix Rousse. Nicely decorated with a touch of Lucien (the dog of the chef), really relax atmosphere (not posh), clients all differents (youngsters, families, friends, locals etc...), waitress super nice, smily and helpful. You feel good and relax due to the atmosphere. The food is revisited traditional food. Really good, a nice mix of flavors. I had an excellent boudin noir (black pudding) as a starter, then veal&snail (fantastic) and I finished with a strawberry pie (delicious). Go on the website you will find a better description ! We are a quite picky family when it comes to food and restaurants and we all agreed that it was our best evening since many weeks !

Je vous remercie d’avoir partagé votre avis sur le restaurant mais regrette vivement ne pas avoir pu échanger avec vous lors de votre dîner. Vous pensiez que le plat était à 13€, or un filet mignon de porc fermier (180g) avec une poêlée de girolles, noisette et crème de panais vaut 21€, comme affiché à l’entrée du restaurant.
Je suis néanmoins content que vous ayez fini vos assiettes et trouvé le repas à votre goût.
Sachez madame, que travailler avec des produits frais issus d’une agriculture responsable a un coût, et je conçois que ça ne soit pas le votre, en revanche le prix des menus est clairement affiché.
