Great food, great atmosphere. Very fancy restaurant and great location inside the Hotel Mont Blanc. The server from Cambodia was very friendly. Just a little bit of slow service.

Excellent quality of food. Each dish was delicious. Good value for money. The place is nice and cosy. Staff could be improved - for a high quality standard restaurant we expect a blameless service!

We enjoyed our evening here At this upscale restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was really nice. The scallops and the cod for entree was really good. And the risotto for the plats was amazing. Good wine and beer collection too.

Outstanding evening and meal. The prefix dinner was fantastic. Each course was well presented and very unique taste. From the appetizer to the desert each complimented well. A definite place for special occasion.

Stayed in Chamonix for our 24th Anniversary & had to dine out at one of the best restaurants in town. Don't be put off by eating in a 5 star hotel as it's not stuffy. Trust me the food being served up is top notch...& worthy of a Michelin star. The steak main was perfectly cooked but the dessert was the best we had the pleasure in a two week holiday in France. Apple tarte tatin with cream & icecream. It was off the charts tasty. We demolished the masterpiece before I could take a photo. If your on a tight budget share the dessert in le Matafan. Highly reccomend you book a table.More

Wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Le Matafan. The staff really are a credit, from a warm welcome upon arrival to warm yet professional service, and great wine recommendations. These days I rarely have a 3 course where each dish is superb...in its own right, but happy to say all 3 were super tasty, angus beef to die for and the rice pudding with caramel (can’t remember dish name) so yummy my wife’s rice pudding will never be the same again! Would definitely go back.More

The matafan is located inside a beautiful hotel named the Mont blanc in the center of Chamonix. There’s a good vibe coming out of the decoration and the staff attitude. The menu has some service options and priced adequately. Any way I must say the...price is not cheap but, it’s a very reasonable price for the quality served here! The dishes we ordered were just perfect! All of them! We enjoyed every second Warmly recommend I will elaborate and say it’s a must do in Chamonix. Period!More

The food was delicious and beautifully presented by very pleasant and helpful waitpersons. We enjoyed the artichoke gnocchi appetizer and duck for main course. The duck was served with a cherry sauce and cooked perfectly. This is an elegant restaurant. The elegance and pleasure of...dining was disturbed by a woman dining alone with her phone on speaker. It was rude and annoying to all the diners around her. The staff were aware of the intrusiveness but did nothing. It was their duty, not that of the diners, to ask her to turn off the speaker.More

Le Matafan is absolutely an experience worth trying to see what kind of a nice menu a good chef can create.. The service is timely, very kind and the dishes are exquisite. The prices are on the higher side but definitely well deserved...
