My friend and I actually visited le Caveau three times during our week in Chamonix, we thoroughly enjoyed the pizza and even though we ate at the bar two out of three times (it tends to be busy) we found the underground (formerly a wine cellar I suspect) pizza joint to be very good. Service isn't... read more

Visited tonight with my friends whilst we are here in chamonix skiing for the week and I can honestly say it's one of the worse meals I have had whilst being abroad. Waited 20 mins to receive menus. 40 mins to have our order taken. An hour and 15 mins to receive our starters and 2 hours to receive our... More

Visited in a group of 8 when the restaurant was not busy, the waitress took 30 minutes before taking our drink order followed by 1 hour wait with prompting to get the wine we ordered to which the waitress replied ask the bar staff. After ordering our starters they came tepid and the garlic bread was doughy and undercooked, another... More

Drink orders took ages to arrive only to be told the waiter was with another customer. 40 mins later starters arrive then another hour later mains arrive only for none of our party to be able to eat the food as it was such poor quality. Waitress then shouting at us swearing in French and telling us we were rude.... More

A reasonable meal was ruined by the managers response to a grim bottle of corked wine. Because around a third had been poured before we raised this he refused a refund or replacement despite agreeing the wine was bad. Whilst the corked wine cannot be blamed on the manager and indeed it may not occur often, the managers bad attitude... More

Pizza was lovely but our food turned up 20 mins apart, drinks arrived 1.5 hours after ordering & glasses were not provided despite asking more than 3 times. The waitress had a terrible attitude & slammed the glasses down on the table. Some of our food was cold too...all in all, this was disappointing

Beautiful basement restaurant with lots of atmosphere. Food was good, though not outstanding for the price, and lack of water bowl made eating whole prawns in sauce very messy! Service was slow however we were in no rush.

I visited this place whilst staying in a B&B hotel, so wanted somewhere for an evening meal. As I can't eat cooked cheese (FYI, to me, it smells like burned rubber), I ordered a Hawaiian sans fromage, however they didn't seem to have put much sauce on it either because, although it tasted ok, it was, frankly, very dry and... Nice venue tucked away on the main drag, easy to miss it. Went for the Caveau pizza, and green salad. Great value and friendly staff Good atmosphere and friendly house dog.
