Great contemporary and inventive food, truly deserves its Michelin star. The "menu du jour" offers a 2 or 3 course meal (although the chef frequently send some complimentary surprises) for an amazing value. The service has been impeccable during all my visits.

We had the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines. I am led to believe this is a michellin star restaraunt and looking at the price tag you would believe that, unfortunately the food does not live up to this billing being distinctly average. The matching wines were sufficent in taste but no more than that and very measily measures... More

Reviewer TahoeJenn below is clearly thinking of a different restaurant in Chamonix (the Bistrot des Sports), as Le Bistrot is a one Michelin star rated fine dining establishment serving contemporary French cuisine. The meal I enjoyed here was fabulous, and I only tried the exceptional lunchtime plat du jour offer (Eur 17 for the main course and a dessert of... More

A prototypical French bistro, albeit one with an alpine flavor. Reasonably priced classic dishes & regional ones. Less touristy feeling than many other places here. It's even nicer now that smoking is no longer allowed inside...

The Le Bistrot is conveniently located in the Best Western Le Morgane where we stayed for 5 nights in early October. After 4 glorious days of sunshine & stiff hiking, it rained on the 5th night & we found it a boon to book an intimate dinner for 2 to sample French cuisine at leisure. We chose the 3-course set... My girlfriend and I dined here with mixed feelings as it was annexed to a hotel. We were pleasantly surprises by not only the quality of the food served but with it the attentiveness of the service and the over all value (when compared to the rest of chamonix!) the amuse bouche excelled and helped with the meal. The obviously... More

As with everything in Chamonix it's quite expensive - but the food was well presented and the staff friendly. I don't see how this place has a star as it's not quite up to it - bu there'd you go. €150 for 2 of us 3 courses each and a local red.

We had a 3-course menu from the "Decouverte" selection, and the culinary experience was worth 3*. Perfect-size portions, amazing combinations and textures, crescendo of flavor intensity, and a spectacular dessert to finish. The maitre-D did a fine job, otherwise the wait staff could have been more cheerful. As some reviews mention, the environment could be improved. It is modern to... More

We were going to eat at this restaurant on June 7th, but upon seeing Blue fin tuna on the menu, we obviously decided against. We were utterly shocked to find this endangered species, very close to being fished to extinction, on the menu of such an establishment. Even the top Japanese restaurants, with their notorious disregard for sustainability, have mostly... More

Dear Sir, First of all we would like to apologise for a misleading situation. However Bluefin Tuna was mentionned on our menu, it was in deed Yellowthin Tuna that was actually served. Our establishment strives for promoting sustanable resources and our Chef is personnally very much involved in this global project. Le Bistrot along with Hotel Le Morgane where it... More
