Good food, welcoming staff, summer garden tables, nearly on the main square of Chamonix. Le Monchu doesn't disappoint

Enjoyed a three course meal here with the family. Had the hot stone plate to self cook steak meat on. Wow. Very tasty. Highly recommend Le Monchu. Will be back to revisit.

We sat outside under heat lamps, which made the summer night temperature in the alps perfect for dining. The fondue was excellent. When we arrived there weren't many patrons in the restaurant but it filled up quickly and our server had so many tables to wait that it took a long time to get our food. I would definitely eat... Very nice outside eating area with a lovely fire, the inside looks very cosy and nice aswell. The service was very efficient quick and good altoughit was very busy. Foodwise The paté was a a bit tasteless. The patatoes and meat platter with the was very good the raclatte cheese could have been better. Overall good service not the worst... More

Nothing great. Service was slow. The raclette set was around €25 per pax. You can find €17 elsewhere. Oooh! But The onion soup saved the day! I loved it.

Had a nice meal at Le Monchu last week (7/27/16) and really enjoyed the setting as well as the Raclette. The desserts were also great. The waiter was attentive and didn't mind that our Frenchh was rudimentary. Definitely recommend it in Chamonix!

The restaurant is decorated with antique and vintage tools, sleds, and alpine items. It looks like a museum inside and outside there is a big covered terras with lights and heating for colder temperatures. We had the typical raclette (melted cheese) heated from traditional hot coals, not electric grill. The service was quick and friendly and the meal surpassed expectations.

Whilst the menu appeared promising and the starters were passable, neither my friend nor I were able to eat our main courses. We had the entrecote and the chicken supreme. The first dish was 90% pieces of fat whilst the Chicken was extremely dry rendering it inedible. The Sancere had a terrible aftertaste however, the couple mont blanc which we... More

This is one of the best Fondue restaurants I've visited; the fondue traditional is excellent. Not to mention ordering another course of BBQ meat (of your choice), where you will

I had the 3 course €19.50 menu - Quinoa salad to start (v unusual to find in France!), followed by Croute de Fromage (out of this world) and ice cream. I thought it was great food so great value and service was friendly and fast. Only downside, which I have found everywhere, is that you can't get a cheese fondue... More
