We had a stopover for lunch on our way to Cote d'Azur and this place ist simply beautiful. Arrived on 11:30 and a fluently English speaking garcon told ud that we have to wait until 12:00 until kitchen will open. We had a perfekt table...with stunning view in the Lake, food was very good and tasty. Beverages a bit expensive but overall reasonable pricing. When we left almost every table was occupied on a Wednesday in July...More

Astonishing view, friendly service, tasty food. Price is quite reasonable considering the quality of the cuisine. Difficult to access without car from city centre, but perfectly worth it..

I cant say enough about Les Terrasses du Lac. the view is literally a postcard from heaven. Coupled with delicious food and this is a must do. Make a reservation, ask to sit on the terrace, and make sure you have a camera handy. Truly...a magical experience.More

Our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of wonderful. Although listed as local cuisine it really should be in the fine dining section too. Quite rightly it is Michelin recommended and the food was delicious; I had the local Fera (fish) cooked and presented...to perfection and my husband had duck which he said was equally delicious. We were greeted by Eriq (might have this wrong but similar name) who was all smiles and made us feel completely relaxed and at home. Although his English was much better than our French, the equally friendly English speaking Chef was brought out to explain the menu. Everything about this place was a delight, including the drive up through the woods with the stars twinkling overhead. We returned the next day to enjoy the view. What makes this even more amazing was that at short notice we changed our reservation to an hour later without any fuss only to realise that they had opened that evening just for us. I am a wheelchair user and they catered for my needs in every way, making me feel so very welcome. It's such a shame that people believe that the only reason to visit this place is for the view because the welcome and food stand alone as a very worthwhile reason to pay it a visit ~ reasonably priced too. If you are ever in Annecy, this restaurant should be at the top of your list of places to visit.More

In 2016 we visited this restaurant for lunch... anticipating the view and sample the French cuisine recommended by locals. The location can be difficult to find but not impossible... sadly by the time we arrived the weather closed in with low clouds and light rain......so much for the view! However...The food was excellent and our hostess was charming even though my french was rusty. I promised myself I would return. In 2017 I returned with a female Peruvian Architect and Interior designer dressed in her native fashion. The hostess with green hair gave us a condescending look and told us all the tables were taken... both inside and outside. While my friend walked around and photographed for over 25 minutes... all the vacant tables remained empty! The snobby hostess rudely stared at us... until we left. I sensed this place was "for locals only" who shuns tourists. You may want to think twice!More

Les Terrasses du Lac is a must visit if you are in neighbouring Annecy. The view is breathtaking, and the food is excellent. Do drive or hire a car, though; we decided to walk 40 minutes from our hotel, which was not wise: uphill through...the woods there, and downhill among the wildlife in the dark on the way back (spare yourself that!). When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by a stunning view and a brusque waiter: both gathered more and more charm with the evening. The meal was superb: great cocktails, great wine (Savoie chardonnay), great coffee, and highlights such as a splendid burrata and tomato (spiced perfectly with smoked paprika), an absurdly tasty fera (seared with what tasted like Parma-truffle salt, but I really have no idea, it was just perfect), a high-quality local cheese plate, and a strawberry-lemon mascarpone dessert. Absolutely delicious, and the entire meal is enjoyed amidst a scenery that very few could take for granted. An essential experience.More

Have been meaning to review this place since our holiday in August. Obviously, the view is amazing, but it was great to see a restaurant not resting on its laurels. Contemporary cooking without unnecessary "flair" - just lovely, subtly-flavoured food. My wife and I had...a lake fish main which was easily our best of the holiday. Relaxed, personal service, with nothing cynical about it. Good value too. My impression is that this restaurant isn't overly reliant on the tourist dollar. Apparently it came under new ownership earlier this year - excellent work!More

An absolute gem of a restaurant embedded in the lush hills overlooking Lake Annecy. Far from the madding crowd, 10 minutes from Annecy, this is your address for a dining experience on the next level. And what a level. Restaurants with this view often fall...short in the actual eating, but Les Terrasses du Lac serves up both view and menu in perfect proportion. Try the tasting menu, a composition composed of local delicacies and presented by a superbly attentive staff led by Hervé Gétenet. Reservations essential.More
