For our last night in Annecy we thought we would have a nice meal in the old part of town. The Restaurant L'Alpin was just right. I'm a very picky eater and not adventuresome at all so I had the "Burger D'Angus Francais", yup a hamburger. It was good and the fries were a treat. My wife and our friends... More

My wife and I visited L'Alpin based on Tripadvisor recommendations. From our point of view it is overrated. We did not have a reservation and we were seated promptly. Menu choices were okay, but no formula menu as is the case in most French restaurants. We both ordered a medium chateaubriand and unfortunately it was served well done. They were... More

This restaurant is situated in the old town with beautiful medieval buildings and open street full of boutiques and cafe bistros. We were welcomed in by the smell of the local cuisine and sat outside. The menu is full of local specialties and wide range of offerings to cater for all choices. As haut savoir is renowned for meat and... More

Very good food especially the Asian salad and crab tartare. We sat outside under very effective heaters but the interior was cosy haute savoie style.Great, friendly staff. The place was full on a cool Weds eve by 7.30.Appears to be much favoured by in-the-know locals.

The service was wonderful and we are still dreaming about the food. My wife and daughter had the cheese fondue while I had the steak Chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce. We ordered two desserts, and I loved them both. The atmosphere was perfect for the Alps - a sort of upscale rustic. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Had a very nice evening at this restaurant , excellent service and well presented, tasty Savoie food. A reasonably priced wine list and menu gives great choice. Some interesting specialities such as Chuck Flap and the usual cheese and meat dishes you might find in an Alpine resort - dont expect Pizza! Good value and enjoyable atmosphere. Beware the front... The staff were very welcoming and happily explained the menu to us in English. The quality of the food was excellent and so were the drinks. We had the steak, the lamb and desserts. We would highly recommend the restaraunt.

The staff was very kind - I don't speak a word of French and sometimes can encounter a little hostility in France but not here We had two steaks, both the mushroom s and the truffle sauce were as very good. The meat quality was fantastic and perfectly executed - was a very satisfying lunch. Great atmosphere and decor, good... More

The food was great, the service was very welcoming and the restaurant looks rustic and authentic. We had the fondue and it was fabulous, not too heavy and a lot of fun to share with the table. Take the time to walk around the center of the old city but avoid arriving by car.
