The situation is good beside the canal in centre of Annecy The owner is managing and his son runs the bar Waiters have been there for 25 years and sport a Parisiene insouciance So better not offended there are two menus at 39 E one with entrecote the other fish but the waiter did not know English name A simple... Our group of 9 (adults and children) came across this canal-side restaurant while wandering through Annecy. The service was a trifle erratic (nothing another waiter/waitress wouldn't have cured), and there was some confusion over what the 'prix fixe' and prix formule' comprised. Nevertheless, the limited choices we were offered were excellent (simple dishes such as ham & melon starter, mains... More

Dinner was so good we went again the next night. Staff was a bit rude, which is strange since the owner is such a nice guy. He's funny and entertaining. He knew we were from the US so he would introduce us to any english speaking patrons. Had some great conversations. The food definitely makes up for any staff issues.... More

Our desired restaurant for lunch was still closed for holidays and the alternative was fully booked. We wandered the old town from the lake and this was the most appealing restaurant open on a Monday. We enjoyed a delicious lunch - choosing the special menu. The foie gras was excellent, as was the smoked salmon, both steaks were cooked as... More

Great setting, lovely views & friendly staff. Brilliant set menu- went for the oysters which were fabulous, then the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly & the accompaniments were beautiful! Would definitely recommend.

I have been eating at this restuarant for the last 12 years.Yet the staff has yet to treat me like a local. In fact at times they have been rude.

We went in for dinner when we walked by. From that moment on the staff did a really good job of making us feel unwelcome. Food was OK but service was horrible. We got one water glass for the three of us, the fries we ordered never came and the front tables where we couldn't sit because we had not... More

Apart the location everything is negative in this restaurant: a very modest selection of oysters and coquillage in general (no more plateau royal!), poor and slow service, high prices. To avoid

Clearly the restaurant is not organized to host the Sunday crowd. We are sitting here since 1 hour and 10 minutes and no food is in sight. Drinks took 35 minutes. Go to any other place if you can!

We went for the lunch deal and the starter (raw seafood, mainly prawn-based, on a bed of carrot) and the main, white fish with scallops and various vegetables, was absolutely sublime. It came with a very delicate sauce and the flavors were all very subtle and not overwhelming. Looked like it could have been a tourist trap and turned out... More
