A lovely evening on a cosy terrasse which, despite being busy, felt very intimate. Service was very friendly and professional and the food delicious beyond expectation. In a touristic area as St Rémy is, the restaurant was a very nice parenthesis of real local and...home made food. I cannot but recommend the restaurant.More

Invited a couple of dear friends to this gem of a place!! We had the filet de beuf and the pork belly as main courses, both tender as butter!! The starters were esquisite and the wine proposed by our friendly, smiling and lovely host above...excellent! If you pass by st remy go beyond the centre of town and visit here!! You will be happy you did!More

We had the worst meal of the summer at the Moulin de Sophie. The steak was inedible (tough as leather) and the French fries were over cooked and tasteless. The grilled fish appeared pre-cooked. The management was totally unreceptive to our complaints Slow service and...crowded terrace. The restaurant sits in front of a hyper market on a busy road. Awful.More

Beautiful patio under trellis. Great warm vibe and one of our best meals. Def recommend reservations. Anytime after 8pm the weather is much cooler in the summer. We will definitely return next time!

We had been given a strong recommendation to this restaurant, and our expectations were met in full. All the boxes were ticked - a warm welcome, an easy transition to conversing in English, a lovely and relaxed courtyard setting, an extensive and very appealing menu...of shared starters + starter dishes + main courses, and helpful wine advice. Overall, a memorable evening, culminating in a lovely conversation with the chef, who is Sophie's husband.More

We have been here with friends and family for many years when in holiday in St Remy and can say without doubt we have always had the best meals there on our vacations. The attention to detail and quality of food is exactly what you...would expect of a talented French Chef. The staff are able to explain all of the menu if you are in any doubt and are very attentive throughout.Sophie is on hand at all times for advice and assistance and manages her staff impeccable. Slightly out of the way of the”tourist trail” which explains why so many locals visit here, always signs of exceptional food. Please make a booking if you are in the area as I will guarantee you will never be disappointed.More

My first visit to “Chez Sophie” but it will not be be the last - far from it! Compared to my last 2 meals in so - called up market restaurants in the same region (which unfortunately were awful), Chez Sophie reminded me of just...how great French hospitality can be. Yes, the food was lovely - very generous portions and cooked to perfection, but the quality of the service (lovely, friendly and attentive), could not be better, and the overall ambience just added to what was a perfect “Sunday Lunch”. It’s the same old classic receipe for success - a family - (which has been in the hospitality business for many years) owned and run restaurant overseen by lovely Sophie’s eye for detail, delivers such a great “feel good factor” - and a desire to return for a repeat “performance”. Can’t wait till the next visit in a day or two!! Well done - and merci bien Sophie et equipe!More

We went to this restaurant based on reviews, but we were disappointed. The steak frite for my husband was a bit tough (although plentiful), and my hangar steak with gorgonzola sauce was more tasty. We had been having fish for many days, so we thought...we would go with the beef. Perhaps we chose wrong. Prices also for our meals seemed high in relation to other restaurants. We paid 30 euro and 38 euro for our meals, without any other starters, desserts, etc. There are other better places to eat in St. RemyMore

The restaurant is a bit hidden. It has a very nice terrace. Although it is located next to a busy road, the terrace is quiet and has a lot of shade. Good and relaxed service. We had several dishes. The squid was excellent, the beef...on the other hand was not good. The beef was chewy and had a lot of tendons and fat. The ceasar salad looked excellent (did not taste it but saw it on the table next to us). Although they present it as a starter it would be more than enough for me as a lunch. Good to know: they also have plates to share with a drink or as a shared starter. Parking is easy because across the road there is a big supermarket with a huge parking lot.More

It’s a bit outside St Remy but definitely worth the short foot walk. The staff is extremely friendly and the patrons very motivated really going an extra mile to make you feel welcome. When we were there all the guests were French which in itself...is always a good sign. The Food was really good and the Ile de Neige one of the best we ever had in our live. Make sure to call before to get a seat on the veranda in a romantic and Cosy setting.More

This is a nice place for a restaurant in Saint Remy de Provence, with a nice terrace, although a bit outside the city center. We were there for dinner, during the week, in May 2019. So, a bit off season, therefore, the restaurant was half...empty. Given that, the service was quite attentive, which positively impressed us. However, we were less impressed when the boy that was serving us (maybe the son of the owner?) has brought us by mistake a wrong bottle of wine, different of the one we ordered, and opened it before checking with us if that was the label we asked for. Nevertheless, the other waiter (his mother?) swiftly corrected the mistake and brought the right bottle. The food was half very good (the duck breast, which was crisp and tender), and the other half not so good (the T-bone steak was very chewy) ... Shall I come again to this restaurant? Probably yes, because the lady running the restaurant has been trying hard to making it work, so I believe she will do her best to improve the flaws.More

Beautiful restaurant on the edge of St Rémy. Been meaning to write a review of this place & it slipped our minds. Unfortunately forgot what we actually had but do remember the food & service were superb. A lovely last night in Provence.

Excellent honest food that is well prepared. The chalkboard menu is supplemented with several additions that change daily. Service is friendly and professional with charming Sophie personally taking the order from each table. The likewise charming co-owner-chef made it a point to check with diners...about their meals. Young and enthusiastic wait staff (Kevin especially) are attentive to the tables. The space is modern in a renovated mill with exposed interior stone walls and a lovely outside courtyard that give the place character. Private lot next door for parking which is a huge bonus. We enjoyed the experience so much that we returned a second night and then a third during our stay in St. Remy.More
