Top quality fish restaurant at the mouth of Marseille's harbour

Had an enjoyable meal here last night - delicious tuna and rib eye, with friendly relaxed service. The restaurant benefits from being away from the main toursist drag - it's more laid back and less fussy than some of the places in the main harbour. Still a little bit pricey, however.

On the vieux port it can be difficult to find a nice restaurant. There are mainly places to go but few are good. "Au bout" is one of them. Fresh products. speciality is fish, (but meat's also on the menu) and provencale dishes. A friendly staff. They speak English and will happily translate the menu for you. You maybe pay... More

At the end of the port area in a secluded corner a wonderful fresh and newly redecorated restaurant. Excellent food with a large selection of seafood - some dishes for meat lovers. I had the oysters for starters and they were yummy. All the dishes were amazing and the wine a real pleasure.

Having made an annual visit to this restaurant for a few years we were looking forward to a fun lunch. Our waiter put an end to that. Service was slow and surly (even by French standards). Our starter plates remained on table til mains arrived despite asking for them to be cleared a number of times. Two of us ordered... More

Well situated, fantastic fresh food. Especially the fish dishes were very original and fresh. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are little bit higher but normal for good food.

Very fresh and delicious food. Trendy young interior. Nice waitress. Releaved to know that they still make good food in France. Highly recommended.

We've been staying in the old port for the past week and this is the only restaurant we've been to twice. They open for lunch between about 12 and 2. So we decided to have a big lunch here rather than ajust evening meal. I would recommend the 'cote de beoff' (steak on the bone) which comes with veg and... More

We had a wonderful, wonderful meal here. We arrived at 7.30 and they open at 8 so they offered us a glass of wine on their patio while we waited. At 8 it was empty but at 9 full of locals. We shared the salmon tartar for appetizer and it was just lovely. I had the risotto and my husband... More

Great location and service. Delicious baked mussels and great foie gras ravioli. Lamb with potatoes is also worth trying. Highly recommended!

We sat at an outdoor table, and had a great meal. The owner stopped by to make sure we were having a good experience. Two people in our party had steak, and one had fish. All very tasty. Our server was attentive and the rosé was delish.
