Ok first of all: Kudos this place is fresh. The food that is. Tables were VERY sticky. Like napkins sticking to the table. Decor is really cute though! Italian rice balls were very sticky. And cold in the center the first time. They made us other ones but still VERY sticky, heavy and cheese slightly warmer. Mini burgers were ok.... More

We recently had dinner here on a Tuesday evening as it was conveniently located very close to our accommodation. We arrived fairly early so there was no problem with seating. The service was excellent and friendly. We shared four plates of tapas - fresh hummus and aubergines with flat bread, mussels in a bean and tomato sauce, lightly crumbed fresh... More

We had booked this restaurant on-line via their web site ahead of our trip to Marseille on the basis of reviews from a number of sources. We had a confirmatory e-mail looking forward to seeing us. Having got a taxi there from our hotel we found that the restaurant was closed for a private function. Producing evidence of our booking... More

I have to admit, i am an Italian who usually does not like very much French cousine, but this...gosh, was excellent. And I say it due to the quality of the food, the very nice interior design and the reasonable prices (great, compared to other restaurantes in France) We tried this option were you can order 3 dishes for a... The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and most of all, for a tapas-style meal, actually filling. Methinks the menu changes according to season, not entirely sure, but the Akolytes burger blew our minds, so if it's on offer, try it. The waiting time for the food was a little bit long, but it appeared to be a one-man-show in the... More

There are few great choices in the Pharo neighborhood of Marseilles, so Les Akolytes is a welcome treat. Situated just across the street from the beach, it is a humble, simple space with zero ambiance and harsh lighting. But don't be fooled -- Raoul and his staff offer a wonderfully creative version of local Marseille cuisine, with a daily selection... More

We were recommended this by the concierge at the Sofitel for something simple, inexpensive and nearby and it certainly didn't disappoint. The tapas style menu was unexpected but worked well (20€ for 2 dishes per person was plenty). The food was outstanding and imaginatively presented: beignets of courgette flowers; sardines under a Parmesan crumble; roast bone marrow; burrata with pesto... More

I went there with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed it. The place is quite small, very close to la plage de catalans. Their portions are small but food is excellent. We loved the gaspacho. Service was also very good.

This restaurant is nice and all ingredients are gathered for a nice evening : good food, good service, good wine ! The share concept can be a bit annoying when it is good so if you are numerous it is better to take 2 plates of something or you will end up with one spoon of risotto. Unfortunately the terrace... After loving this place last year and earlier in the year, we revisited recently and were not impressed. Service has deteriorated, and so (more important) has the kitchen. Jury is out; watch this space...
