We went out of our way to come here based on the TA and other reviews and were not disappointed. We took rental bikes and made the (very long) trip from the city center. We shared the bouillabaisse and were not disappointed. Bread and broth is first brought out, and the waiter also brings out the fist that will be... More

the best friendly place for all marseillais people. pizza is just wonderful, fish is fresh and best cooked, waiters are at your service all time. beware not to go there with a big car, as it is a typical fishermen village, and there is no space for car to park

This restaurant has amazing views and good food. The staff were very attentive and there were English menus available. I tried the fisherman's pot - it was very big, probably enough for at least two people. We also tried the risotto with seafood, it was amazing. They were also accommodating and made a small portion of pasta for our little... More

If you want to eat a fish based cuisine with à Marseille ambiance go chez Aldo. You will love it. From the "familial and traditional" point of view but also because of the dishes. It's good quality and the quantities are quite big. A bit pricey but it worth it !

Marseille has a lot of fish restaurants, but Chez Aldo, a place that I've been eating at regularly for more than 10 years, is really up there with the best this city has to offer. The fish is always fresh, and caught locally, and other local products include work by local artists on the walls which is usually very good.... More

Order the bouillabaisse in advance saying how many in your party, all you need for a very filling meal, soup to start and the fish to follow, they showed us the platter of fresh fish on arrival then cooked it for us, heaven. Wash down with a cold bottle of wine from Cassis while looking out over the Med ..... More

The last 5 years when I go to Marseilles I cannot wait to dine at Aldo... it's so typical... you like or you don't , but the food is fresh and well cook, the service is family type, no rush but very nice. Great place to go.

This was suggested in Lonely Planet and sounded most appealing to our needs. It's a bit of a drive from downtown Marseille and gets you to pass the beach side of this vital metropolitan, arriving in a quiet and pleasant residential area. The decor is light, classic, purposeful, the air-condition works well, all tables covered in white clothes (and paper... More

All the selection is grilled and it is accompanied by tomatoes. On one hand you like to taste fresh seafood and grilling is good for that. On the other hand you do not need a fancy chef to grill food. The view is beautiful however and the service is very good.
