Like a lot of Brits, we had heard of this restaurant from the Rick Stein TV series where he travelled from Bordeaux to Marseille on a canal boat. On a previous visit to Marseille we hadn't been to this side of the city, so this time we made a special effort. The restaurant bears no resemblance to how it used... More

Great Bouillabaisse, an incredible broth and an excellent array of fish after an elegant ravioli dish. The classic Bouillabaisse was quiet large and satisfying. The dessert was very nice. Service was impeccable; the Sommelier's wine recommendation was very good. Great view. Not to be missed

On the positive side, this restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean and the food ranges from good to very good. On the negative side, they seated us at the worst table in the restaurant despite better tables being open, then proceeded to completely ignore us (no menus, no drink orders, no water even) for approximately 20 minutes. Once... More

For a party of 8 ordering the boulabaisse we were certainly not dissapointed. An incredible broth and impeccable fish after a elegant ravioli dish. A slight twist on the classic boulabaisse but well recieved. The dessert was also small like the ravioli but after the boulabaisse you dont want anything big. The petit fours with coffee was just the icing... More

Arrived just before sunset, walked around the little fishing village past Fon Fon and the others, and into this oasis of calm and elegance. Everything is beautifully designed and executed. Service superb. We both had the bouillabaise and it was superb. After we had the soupe de poission, they offered us some more and we accepted, so they brought an... More

We’d come across this restaurant in an article from an English travel writer and booked. The following Saturday we arrived for lunch at the small port of Vallon des Auffes having walked from our accommodation in the district of Endoume. From the outside the restaurant looked nothing special but it’s position was enviable. We were warmly welcomed at the entrance... More

We went there for Easter lunch. The menu was set beforehand and we loved it. The food was fish-based as you would expect from a seafront restaurant on the French riviera and was excellent. It is quite difficult to get there and parking is quite a feat!

Having visited Marseille in February we weren't putting too much focus on the locale or settings for dinners out, thinking it would have no real impact on our dining experiences at this time of year. Not so the case at L'Epuisette, we had a wonderful meal here made all the more enjoyable by the water side setting and fascinating glass... More

It seems that three factors strive for the prize of excellence here - service, ambiance/view and cuisine. And they all come together harmoniously and sans effort in one of the most fantastic restaurants nestled into a sort of cove in Marseille, reminiscent of Edmond Dantes and the Abbe Faria. The literary diner will think Count of Monte Cristo as he... More

We waited 35mins to be given a menu and in the end had to ask for it, also had to ask for a wine list, twice, were not given greeting drinks unlike all of the surrounding tables. The service was generally disorganised, half hearted and slow, certainly nowhere near the standard you'd expect for an expensive restaurant with a Michelin... More
