Good bouillabaisse , the fish is presented before you eat . Nice surroundings overlooking the sea inlet and fisherman preparing for the evening journey. No air con though was my only gripe but all in all glad I went.

A dinner "Chez Fonfon" it's definitely an experience to remember. Located in the little traditional fishing haven "Vallon des Auffes" in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, gift you the experience to sit inside a postcard while having a dinner that for me was just perfect. Their Bouillabaisse it is simply delicious. The staff is professional, polite and attentive, but at... More

We went there for bouillabaisse, having not had it before we enjoyed it but we don't have anything to compare it with. It was good but not amazing and we've had better seafood dishes in France (Marseilles as well). Location was in a quirky village. We had other dish, whilst it was good it was expensive, even when compared to... More

What a great find. The waiter brought out two whole fresh fish so we could choose our favorite. It was grilled and then served at table. We had an assortment of appetizers and bouillabaisse that was incredible. Elegant lunch and delicious food.

The food and very good and fresh.   The maid who takes orders, is not kind, and arrogant. It is worth it as it may spoil a good dinner

We visited Fon Fon 2 days after visiting the nearby L'Epuisette so we could compare the two most famous bouillabaisse restaurants in Marseille. Like L'Epuisette, the room has had a total makeover and is now chic. It's set back a little into the harbour, so its view is not as spectacular, but lovely nonetheless as it overlooks the fishing boats... More

We were greeted by our names, formally and cordially. Chez Fonfon is one of those few places that can survive time and trends with the magic elements of good food and excellent service. The appetizers, oysters and squid persillade were fresh and tasty, unpretentious, simply good and beautifully presented. For main courses we tried the grilled fresh rougets that were... More

Fon Fon is touristy but who cares. Plenty of French people go there too. In fact, this Fon Fon was recommended to me by an old friend from Marseille. The setting on a little inlet crammed with small sailing boats is lovely. The views are clear from every seat. And the bouillabaise cannot be beatten. Oh, and the atmosphere is... More

First the setting, Fonfon which bills itself as the birthplace of bouillabaisse, sits on a beautiful and lively cove. There were many locals enjoying the last remnants of sun in the picturesque cove. The restaurant is very clean, somewhat modern but not too white-table cloth stuffy. The dress was everywhere from bathing suits to sport coats. The bouillabaisse is only... More
