This was our third visit to L'Artegal and it is as good as ever. The chef is really creative and the food is presented beautifully. It's a wonderful location, just by the walls of the Castle. We will be back!
We didn’t have a reservation but the lady owner was kindly seat us. Located next to Château de Gordes, L’Artegal is a little gem in the heart of the village. Serving Provencale specialities with fresh & local ingredients, we had an excellent and delicious dinner....Service was efficient, friendly and welcoming.More
The 2nd night in Gordes my wife and I and our 2 adult children ate here. The food was good and well presented but small portions. I had the duck. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was OK. I much preferred La...Trinquette and L'Outsider for the food and atmosphere.More
One fellow was serving about 20 covers, so, as you can imagine, service was very slow. It was I infernally hot in the restaurant and it was not possible to eat outside as the mistral was whipping up, so we sweltered. Our soup was delicious,...but tepid, which I didn’t quite understand, (soup is either served chilled or hot, but perhaps the Provençal way is luke warm-who knows) Our cod parmentier was flavoursome, but potato was the dominant force here at the expense of the fish. Wine was a quite acceptable Cote De Ventoux, a little rough but pleasant enough. We declined dessert. Experience bit of a damp squib really.More
It looked like the most touristic place of the little village, which we normally would avoid. But they had a really nice menu und so my husband - who needs to eat gluten free - went to talk to the staff about a reservation. Late...walk-ins won’t be lucky. The lady was very friendly and gave us right away the impression, that she knew what she was talking about. The kitchen made the appetizers and the mains dishes for both of us gluten free, so we could split and share. I usually avoid eating meat in France... but this cook made an extraordinary job! We went right back the evening after.More
My wife and I ate at L'Artegal twice on a recent one week stay in Gordes. On both occasions the food and service were great, as was the wine. A simple short menu (5 dishes per course) but a nice variety all very nicely cooked...and presented. The lamb, veal and chicken mains are all to be recommended and although we didn't have fish, what we saw on other people's plates looked great.
RECOMMENDATION : Book. We were lucky on both occasions and got a table without booking, but we were early and after 8pm most new arrivals were turned away.More
We had lunch menu. Salmon pate as a starter followed by duck breast. Both dishes were served in a bowls, looking strange and inadequate for me. Duck breast was sliced the way it reminded me thick worms. No dish decoration was used. With regads to...taste I did not find enough famous french cuisine souse in any of the dishes. The duck was tough and clearly made of frozen product. Interior of this restaurant is very basic. But the wine, local Sauvignon Blanc was goog and the service too. But overall impression is negative. I wonder why do people like this place?More
Very nice and tiny restaurant. You should make your reservation up front! Located in the center with a few table outside a very nice restaurant. Few courses and/ or one menue per day. Fresh and very good quality. Tasty and accompanied by a good choice...of wine. Friendly service. You really feel like an appreciated guest.More
This was probably the best meal we had during our tour of Provence and the South of France. The menu is good value and all courses we're excellent particularly the lamb (so tender). Service and wine also very good. It is in a lovely situation...in the town square by the castle. Very popular so booking is essential.More
