On a lovely square, partly with sea view, Les Palmiers offers you a nice place to take a break, be that for food or drink. The service / food is not overwhelming, but it is quite entertaining to watch what is happening on the square. And on sunny days, there are a lot of parasols so you can get a nice spot in the shade. It felt rather expensive.

Nice server On the other hand, no card brought despite our request (he is the card) Good cocktail but disappointed by the charcuterie board, insufficient for our taste For 12€ we got 2 slices of sandwich bread (no bread basket, no butter) 2 slices of raw ham 2 slices of chorizo 2 slices of Bacon 1/2 slice of white ham Charcuterie not bad but not extraordinary So can do better I think

Very average salad

Very average salad with a £15 asking price. Had the Cesar salad which was more bacon lardon than chicken cesar. The chicken was southern based and for me didn’t suit the salad. Lovely setting in the square but I’d give this one a miss. £15 salad was wasn’t as nice a a shop bought for £5.

Nice location close to the bay. Service relatively quick and kind but a bit scruffy. Very bad value for money: Paid €60 for a poorly cooked and served tuna steak and very displeasingly looking squid laid over oily potato mash.

Recently visited and was recommended lasagne. I can honestly say it was the worst lasagne I’ve ever tasted, overbearing cheese taste and struggled to find any meat. The service was not the best and it’s obviously a local sports bar and whilst trying to enjoy a meal had to listen to a group of men shouting to the football. Perfect location so it was such a shame and a waste of an evening.

We had lunch in this restaurant in April 2022 as part of a surprise celebration for my husband's 80th birthday. On leaving I paid the bill with my French bank card. When I checked my bank statement on returning home, I found an extra 10 euros had been added to the bill for the meal without my authorisation . The restaurant had ‘omitted’ to give me the visa receipt, only the receipt for the meal, so I did not notice this extra amount at the time. We are pensioners and I can't believe people can behave in this way. Stay away from this restaurant.

Most unprofessional and rude service in the area

The Asian lady and her partner...who seemingly run the place are super rude. That one can ignore in a tourist area. But more importantly they are unethical and torally unptofessioanl with their service and about the "deals" they advertise. The breakfast offer outside the restaurant said 12.50 Euros for omelette, coffee and a drink. We ordered 2. The Asian woman charged us 47 Euros for our breakfast. When we asked why ... her response was you didn't say you want the deal. And I made the omelette from 3 eggs instead of 2. And then she became even more rude ... told her husband to deal with us. Who just came and billed us without listening to us. French hospitality at its worst. It's not the overpriced omelette but the bitter taste in your mouth that kills a vacation.

Really lovely!

Really lovely food and a lovely place to bring our 4 year old. He wanted something from the adult menu but they brought it as soon as it was ready knowing it was for him and he was hungry. Also great for an afternoon drink as we can sit outside while he has a run around in the square! A lovely selection of food and great service. We will definitely be back through the week!

Not our favourite restaurant..

This restaurant was one of the only restaurants open in Villefranche-sur-Mer when we were there in March since it was their winter season (it was also a Monday so other places were closed). They have a big menu with lots of different options. We didn't feel as though it was the cleanest place. They didn't really know of any gluten free options so I just ordered the caprese salad which was quite good. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and they asked how he wanted it cooked. He said medium-well but it was basically tartare. You could tell the bun was previously frozen and not heated up properly. This place is in a great location but we found it quite disappointing. It is a great spot for a drink or a morning coffee but I think there are better options around for food.

We arrive at 12:35 precisely and we have seen the taste of our first verse after 13:00 for 4 drinks.and at 13:30 we have the very first dish after 1 hour waiting . Seeing our dishes ignoble salad accompanied by very bad pasta I absolutely do not recommend.

Consistently good and great value for money

We have visited Les Palmiers for the last 16 years great restaurant very hard working staff. Clean solid dishes lots of food always fresh always served well. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough not pretentious just good solid food great football t.v. When available just a fab family restaurant in a most spectacular part of the south of France. Particularly recommend the specials and the carbonara and the mussels superb.

Have been many times before, but I just wanted to thank the staff for going above and beyond. It was a very wet and windy night, the staff came out in the rain to bring my husband, who is now in a wheelchair to the curb while I went to get the car. They were all soaked to the skin , but smiled and laughed. Great job guys. I think the food was good too. Chris Lloyd Jones

If it was possible to give no stars, I would have given them. This restaurant does not deserve to be located in such a quiet, beautiful and relaxing place. The welcome was dismal, you barely looked at you, only one card was given for the table. Then we ordered cocktails. I quote: fresh mint leaves, sugar, lemonade and lemon or raspberry of your choice. We receive a glass of ice tea (confirmed by a waiter), mixed with water and a scoop of ice cream in it...No taste. We kindly express the dissatisfaction with the cocktail which does not correspond to what is written on the menu. I would like to point out that it is €9 (without alcohol). We decide to cancel our order and leave. The waitress (or perhaps the manager given the disrespect towards the customers) gets angry and insults us. I calmly explain to her why we are leaving but she continues with her insults; I quote: “LITTLE C****”; “YOU FART****”. We left without saying more.

Bad style- they save on children

Very disappoiting experience:you get what you pay for? 3x kinds menu with 1 scoop of ice- cream ( why?! ) they write 2 scoops. " Because all menu cards were printed before menu was made". I should have refused to pay. No opportunites to claim- they give you a card with Facebook/ Instagram add and tlf nb to book a table. No way!

Go your way if you are hungry! very long service, unsmiling waiters, and when you call on your waiter, good luck getting him to come back and see you.! I often come to Villefranche and I will certainly not return to this restaurant.!
