We make sure to come here whenever we are in the South of France, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The waiters, in particular Cyril, are all extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the filet de boeuf and the marshmallow dessert, both are to die for. I can’t wait to come back here again!

One of the best restaurants in Villefranche, perfect courtyard setting with excellent food and service. We first noticed the restaurant’s popularity on our frequent walks through the old town of Villefranche, so booked a table.
We weren’t disappointed and our waiter was very attentive in explaining the various dishes on offer. The food and overall general ambiance were excellent.
Deserves its high rating, well worth visiting.

We had a good dinner here and really enjoyed the ambiance.
We’d heard about the famous scallop risotto and were not disappointed! This is a pricey restaurant though and the portions served for the risotto in particular were on the small side. However I’d definitely recommend a visit and it was one of our favourites of the local area.

We opted to eat here for lunch and we’re surprised by the quality of food.
We were seated and asked for drinks to start with no menu in hand as what what drinks they had to offer .
Table water was not delivered , had to ask twice.
The lunch menu was on the table in typical French mini chalk boards. The menu was not updated so what I wanted was not the entree for the day .
No child’s plate so we had to go for the pasta dessert for 17€ a bit too much for a ten year old .
Our plates arrived in time and were served well prepared

Year after year we return. They always find us a seat and year after year we eat the octopus and the Scallop Risotto and drink too much wine. Truly a superb restaurant that is far cheaper than and far far better than most 2nd rate eateries in the U.K. A truly great restaurant in a truly beautiful setting.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. We initially had a reservation that our Concierge made right on the water. I had read a lot of the reviews for this restaurant and when we walked by as we were exploring the towns, I wanted to change our reservation. It was packed but they gave us a reservation later that night and we grabbed a drink nearby.
The restaurant is so cute and charming if you want to eat more in the village. The food and service was 5 star. We had 2 steak dishes, both with truffle and both so delicious. This is THE spot if you want to eat in Villefranche. Later we talked to the Concierge and he agreed this is the best restaurant but he assumed we wanted water views. So there you go!

We had decided to have our main meal at lunch time and thought this place looked nice. We went for the set price meal and the starters were very nice, however the chicken dish that I ordered was not properly cooked - it was pink and slimey. When I sent it back the waiter did not seem surprised and when the meal came back to me, it had clearly just been put in the oven for five minutes, rather than replacing the meal. To add insult to injury we were offered water once we had finished our drinks - everyone around us had caraffes of fresh water, we did not realise that they gave us a bottle and then charged 9 euros for it (probably revenge for sending the food back).

Just wow! I came here on an evening of heavy rain. Which I’m told is unusual in Nice. Despite having a reservation, I had to sit outside since the inside was all reserved. While at the beginning I wasn’t sure about it, after the first bite of my octopus “appetizer “ I was sold. It was a very abundant and incredibly tasty. It was highly recommended by the waitress and she was so right! It was melt-in-your-mouse good. And the seasoning was just perfect. I followed it with the scallops risotto. Simply AMAZING! While not a huge serving, it was the perfect size to leave room for the fondant cake (ie lava cake). I made a reservation for the next night before leaving. That should tell you how good it was! Not inexpensive but so very worth it!

It goes without saying that when you find a gem, you count down the days until you can visit again! We found this place from my wife’s recommendation in 2017, we have since visited every time we are in the area ever since. In 2022 we visited the place often 2 times a day. Friendly staff, amazing food and incredible wine… counting down the weeks until we return again!

Just good, nothing more, the price is not justified.

My daughter and I were recommended this restaurant by a friend who had recently visited. We had made a reservation (by phone) and were seated outside in the very pretty courtyard.
My daughter and I were greeted by friendly waiters who were more than happy to answer any questions regarding the menu.
We chose the foie gras and burrata and pea puree starter. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and plentiful.
For our mains we had the tuna and a sea bass style dish, both served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Again the food was excellent.
We were too full for dessert so just sat in the restaurant soaking up the nice vibe of the place.
It turned out to be our best meal whilst touring the area. It’s not cheap but it was value for money and extremely good.

Very well received by kind, kind and friendly staff. Large plates but the quantities are really small (my tenderloin very good had to be 50 grams...) Addition of 107.5 euros, including a tenderloin of pork at 34 euros and a mouse of lamb at 36 euros (good quantity for the mouse of lamb). A side that deserves more work (a simple mashed potato). Too bad the Quantity/Award ratio is clearly not good. We were hungry despite a good dessert (tropezian pie from the bakery of the same name) and a chocolate fondant that was already melted and popped on the plate (disappointment when you like to break the fondant). Disappointment.

Shady friendly terrace in the heart of old Villefranche. No resa by phone but no pb on arrival at 13:30, a table was assigned to us immediately. The starter/main or main course/dessert formula at 21€ is interesting if it is to your liking (3 choices of starters and main course and 2 choices of dessert). Otherwise, the choice à la carte is quite expensive I find. For my part, my choice was expensive for little quantity (artichoke parmesan dried tomato salad at 21€ with bcp green salad, 3 small pieces of dried tomatoes). Attention also for children, no menu for them or adapted portion so risk of food waste.

Boys and what boys...
After a stroll through Villefranche, 4 of us were attracted by this little place where all the servers have a smile that will make you want to take a seat without even looking at the menu....
Very nice menu.
Andalusian gazpacho as good as that served in Seville, an excellent sweet potato humor and warm goat cheese salad.
We continue with a piece of very tender beef and fresh tuna grilled perfectly as it should be.
We finish with a very good little pear cake....
In a way, a very beautiful and pleasant place where you are taken care of with the greatest care.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! The best food we have had so far since arriving to the Southern coast of France. The food literally melts in your mouth and it is just so delicious and well presented. Service was excellent. No complaints. Halloumi salad was one of the best starters we have ever had. Vegetarian risotto was just to take your breath away, and the 7 hours cooked beef was to die for. You need a booking during busy months, but we were very lucky to get a table without booking. I would love to go back! ++++
