Wonderful evening, superb cuisine, friendly and efficient staff. Deserves a return visit again and again...... Beautiful location right on the sea front. Reservation necessary as very popular with those who appreciate haute cuisine
Fabulous setting and easily our favourite restaurant in Villefranche-sur-Mer. The dishes taste as good as they look. Complete with friendly efficient service and the staff make you feel so happy and welcome to be there! Highly recommended! Thank you and see you in September.
A traditional, typical restaurant in Villefranche-sur-mer...since 1938, they are serving gastronomy specialties of fish and shellfish....at the water's edge, a unique and priveled location...delicious seafood...you have sit one of the tables near the sea, and enjoy excellent seafood, and wine....it's like being in paradise...
I have eaten here several times. My first visit was more than 30 years ago....and I am always in awe of the meal, the service, the venue and the hospitality of the staff. It has not changed a bit.....but then again, it has been better...every time I've had the pleasure to dine there. Take the time to enjoy classic French cuisine at this iconic place on the waterfront. You won't be disappointed!More
This restaurant has a cool history but relies more on its past and reputation than on its culinary prowesses. It is average and quite expensive but its location is fantastic. Go for the scenery and history but don’t expect a great meal.
Warm greeting by the Maitre 'd/Owner & prompt seating at an outside table. We had asked to be on the quay, but arrived late, so our fault. Still a lovely table! Excellent service, bread, 2015 Grand Reynard Chablis highly recommended. Only weak link were the...oysters - not much flavor & a bit flabby. Husband had the lobster & it was surrounded by cloves of garlic & absolutely delicious! My Sole Almandine was excellent - perfectly cooked and a very large serving I was unable to finish. We don't do dessert, but our charming table mates did and proclaimed it excellent. Small cream puffs served with the coffee. Just a beautiful evening - many thanks!

We have visited La Mere Germaine many times. Each and every time left us with great memories. The service is always friendly and efficient. The owners greet every guest personally. They really make one feel at home. The food is excellent. Yesterday we first had...the oysters. Perfectly cleaned and great quality. Afterwards we enjoyed the sole, which is one of the best we've ever had. For the wine we chose a Chateau Minuty Rosé which at €41.00 is very fair deal. We hope to be back at La Mere Germaine many times in the future.More
