La Cassolette is situated in a lovely square in the heart of the old town. The menus is not particularly child friendly (it's was burgers or nothing for them) so we chose from the 'full menu' I had the club chicken salad which was fabulous, my husband ordered beef which was cooked to perfection and we ordered a main meal... The lunch was magnificent! Varietal of seasonal and colorful tomatoes with fresh buffalo mozzarella and Fish (sea bass) with creamy mushroom risotto. Absolutely recommend. Waitress did not speak English but we managed just fine.

My husband and I shared a zucchini flower appetizer and the steak for two along with a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious, but the steak did take quite a while to prepare. Wouldn't normally have been a problem but it was our first day in France and we were a bite jet lagged. And it was our most expensive... More

Excellent range of tasty, well presented Provençal fish and meat dishes. A small kitchen and single chef caters for tables inside a small restaurant and outdoors on a terrace next to the town hall in the old part of Vence. Friendly and efficient service but understandably quite slow, so wouldn't suit people in a hurry

Cassolette never disappoints! A different menu every time we visit with thought and fresh produce used to the full extent. The fixed price menu is good value for money. Small and cosy in winter with excellent friendly service.

This charming small restaurant (only seats 14) is superb. First class cooking, beautifully served and astonishingly good value. .

My husband and I had the Menu d'Automne. I had the risotto with pumpkin, served in its own little pumpkin shell, and let me just say that I will remember those flavors for a very long time. Simply amazing. My husband ordered the lobster salad and we had agreed to share. It was very, very difficult to let the risotto... More

Seeing a pot au feu on the specials board convinced us to go here on our last night in Vence. Great decision. There is a seriously skilled pair of hands in the kitchen here, the pot au feu, a rich man's version of a peasant dish, was fantastic, with every element cooked to perfection. I haven't had one with duck... More

Enjoyed most of the courses here - fois gras, goats cheese salad, prawn risotto and toblerome creme brulee, My partner's beef main was small and fatty - given this was one of the more expensive menus he did complain, but the hostess shrugged 'c'est comme ca avec un piece du boeuf', When we asked for a bottle of house red,...
